When I was a kid I thought that blue lightsabers were meant for Padawans and green lightsabers were for knights and masters. Luke constructing his green lightsaber was kind of symbolizing he had finished his training and became a knight. And in Episode 1 Quigon had a green lightsaber while Obi Wan was still a Padawan and had a blue one. But then Episode 2 came out and the black guy had purple and green and blue was just randomly given to any of the Jedi from then on. I liked my headcannon better than the movies portrayed.
