Can someone for the love of god give this a proper adaptation? If Apple or whoever made this an anthology series it would be the most popular shit in the world. It’s just a cool story with wide appeal why in gods name has no one tried this??

There's a guy making an ai adaptation of the book

Oh cool this looks like a sweet zombie book. Ive heard its good! ... oh cool its a gigantic chapter about fucking Israel and Muslims and Middle East politics. Coooooool dude! Thats exactly what I was hoping for when I picked out this cool zombie book. Heck yeah

Don't forget the jews brag about independently confirming the zombies were real...only they didnt share the information with anyone else including the United States. Meaning the jews were behind the zombie apocalypse basically and were just using it as an opportunity to embolden themselves at literally everyone else's massive expense...

Why do you people think anyone cares about this website

It gets 1/4 of the unique daily visitors it got in like 2020 lol
>>
>>223805613
Lol that is literally the canon of the book and theyre even proud and boast about it, the interviewer simply never asks them why they didnt inform their greatest ally of their concrete proof the zombies were real.

In universe, jews just openly brag about their (failed) plan to self isolate with the Tel Aviv wall while leaving burgermutts to and vatniggers out in the cold to die by the billions. Theyre genuinely culpable over the state of that world, but hilariously Best Korea gets shit for essentially doing the same exact thing with bunkers instead (and the fact it may have worked is supposed to make the reader angry at Best Korea)...

The adaptation will only make one of the two main battles a no expense spared setpiece: The Battle of Yonkers or The Battle of Hope...which do you choose?
>>
>>223805704
You could do the Battle of Hope for cheap, all you need are extras and the prop for the gun. It was a line firing battle. They gave up all use of artillery and whatnot by that point because the zombies are magically invulnerable to explosions for no reason.

>Can someone for the love of god give this a proper adaptation?

A proper adaption would be an anthology tv series with different actors in different stories by different writers, with seasons being a mix of stand-alone episodes and several episode arcs, which might reference each other or have cross-overs in later seasons.

Hollywood fucked up (once again) by turning WWZ into a movie while adapting The Walking Dead into a tv series, even though the later had a restricted story and thus quickly went to shit.

>battle where people lose because zombies are immune to tank rounds or battle where they form a giant circle and shoot for 24 hours straight while HR therapists tap them on the shoulder every hour to help them process what they are doing
I'm good this book in retrospect was fucking retarded that had to nerf shit for the sake of nerfing. A better reasoning would have been to start the Zombie invasion after a major war when the US depleted most of its munitions but that would require good writing not from the nepo baby of a famous jew director that went from making edgy racist movies to "you must get the jab racist goyim"
>>
The book was great fun and already written like a movie script, so when are we finally getting a movie adaption?
>>
>>223805745
It's not for no reason. Zombies aren't affected much by shrapnel, their brains and organs aren't affected by overpressure to any meaningful degree, and their blood has congealed making them more resilient. You need to pierce the skull and destroy most of the brain to kill one, which artillery won't do in any significant numbers. They can also sometimes take headshots and still survive since the brain wasn't samaged enough, which led to more panic and confusion. Zombies are magical fiction in the first place. Being angry they're not perfectly realistic is stupid.
>>
>>223805440
>If Apple or whoever made this an anthology series
you'd struggle to stay awake watching it
>>
>>223806300
Never. A movie is 100% the worst format to ever adapt it to. The audiobook is like a dozen hours of stories. You can't just trim out 90% of something and pretend it will be just as good. Two hours of runtime, presented to a low iq cinema audience that has no idea what it is, and just demand more of the usual slop is idiotic. Make a miniseries geared towards the actual book fans, they will let everyone know that it's good, then the normie audience can pick it up from there so it gains more traction and popularity.

Because most zombie movies now are such trash that it's seen as an infantile genre not worth pursuing. Yet there's still plenty of amazing stories to tell. As is obvious, most people have not read or listened to the book. They only saw the dreadful film. This book could be adapted into a couple dozen episodes all interconnected by the same outbreak and big events, which makes it that much better with an overarching lore and characters. Instead we just get shit like 28 years later 1&2 which are barely zombie movies.

There were more civilian/news helicopters in the skies than military ones, Yonkers wasn't the entire military it was what little was in the local area
>>
>>223807313
Plus he explained that it's a standard military unit that's set up to fight other militaries. Half of its stuff isn't necessary for a fight against zombies and they have far too little fuel or ammo at that moment. Shit like tanks with turbines that run through gas and achieve little with canon rounds. Air defense missiles that are not useful. Only a standard load of bullets. Wearing NBC gear that's not helpful and exhausting the soldiers. Rumors and fear spreading like wild. The key to all of these stories is that zombies are a new thing that has never been seen before. Yet detractors approach stories like "why didn't they just know exactly how to deal with zombies? Haven't they seen ever single zombie movie ever like I have?!" These people can't imagine not eating breaking this morning.
>>
>>223807508
There is always a "why the fuck did they do it that way?" thing in zombie stuff.
LIke for example in the walking dead, the entire human race got infected with the zombie virus in a couple of days and when they died in accident or natural death could turn zombie.
For some reason the governments of the world in the walking dead even when the virus was breaking out all over the world, they still decided to keep that info from the public.
It's a very retarded way to make the plot of the walking dead happen.
>>
>>223806686

Propelled metal zipping through the air at high speed. Even a hand grenade will leave no zombie alive, theyd grenade every house.

And why would they make a new rifle when theyd have literally hundreds of millions of available semi automatic AR 15s in inventories with billions of that caliber in every National Guard armory in every state? Why would a truck mounted convoy of m2 .50 caliber machine guns not vaporize every zombie?

The most "realistic" zombie movie is still 28 days later where some kind of super potent rabies virus turns everybody crazy with rage and could spread instantly by even the smallest drop of blood or saliva.
And in this setting all the "zombies" are still just humans but crazy and all of them are dying by the end of the movie.

But then of course the second and third movie retconned a bunch of stuff.

I'd really love an anthology series of the interviewer traveling to meet with the witnesses, have the documentary format of the interview, then a reconstruction with voiceover and diagetic, capped off by a current-day followup of the events that took place. The downed pilot one, led by her own subconscious to safety through hallucination, could be a cool fakeout ghost story.
>>
>>223808514

>>
>>223808822
Yeah that makes no sense, you just have to pretend it does. Artillery and bombs vaporize people, theyd do the same to corpses. Its not like being at the center of a bombing site leaves your body intact. The corpses look like exploded grapefruit. Even mortars which are pretty small just leave giblets eeverywhere. Yonkers wouldn't have happened the way it did, the way its presented the bombing runs did very little, but even if they were more resistant to explosions theyd be fucked up massively and the shock wave would destroy their brains in their skulls or at least stop them from moving forward. The book treats them as basically explosion proof.

>>223808019
It's been a long time since I read it but I seem to recall things like the artillery and airstrikes having a lot of initial success against the zombies for those specific reasons, particularly when they were packed up tightly on the interstate, but the problem was that they had to stop after a while to resupply and there were still millions upon millions of zombies following behind them, with more being drawn to the noise all the time.
Those zombies were on the troops and armor long before they could get the planes back in the air, and that was the main problem. They had things that worked against them, but not enough of it.
>>
>>223808794
I thought that shit did, it was things like tank shells that weren't as effective because they were all packing HEAT instead of fletchettes/sabot, so they'd go through a line of them or blow up a few but they'd still have hundreds left around the impact site.
>>
>>223809615
What makes the book standout is that it's probably one of the most heartfelt and down to earth portrayals of both a apocalypse and a post apocalypse, and it's method of delivery is pretty unique.

The best line in the book is probably "Want a root beer?", and there was a lot of set up for that line to have meaning because the context for it was delivered close to the beginning.
>>
I could maybe understand most of the Warnings chapter things happening in real life, like people smuggling their infected family under piles of heavy clothes and crates with air holes, infected people going to first world countries through third world ones and the first cases and victims happening in rural or remote areas with them being blamed on tribalistic third world hijinks and chimpout killings
Hell I can even believe the Iran vs Pakistan but not Pakistan vs India
What I found retarded was most of the "Fightback" chapters
>muh new super secret recipe zombie proof suits
>muh new standardized rifle that somehow hasn't been invented even though it's better than everything ever made before
>muh decimations and fearmongering working
>muh zombies surviving crushing depth of the ocean floor (addressed but hilariously not answered KEK)
>muh zombies surviving freezing, organ destruction and everything that should be fatal to the body
>people ditching guns keeping every contact with zombies at a safe distance by hand to hand larping faggotry
>the whole pissrael self wank
>frognigger self pity and self wank over muh catacooombs
>celebrity hate self wank cringe chapter
>teasing nork underground zombie kino and a bunch of other way more interesting things but never delivering
>wheelchair fag & dog fucker chapters
>iron maiden square formation cringe
Unironically the best chapters were the Chink sub, the Cuban guy, the Smuggler and the concept of people surviving in castles (not the part about ditching guns for swords) and the International Space Station
Everything else is cliched like Yonkers or not built up enough to become interesting, like the Radio ships and early cases, or what happened to places like Mexico, NorKorea and Japan
Unironically zombie outbreaks felt more realistic and feasable in the Zombie Survival Guide, which somehow exists in the WWZ universe yet nobody knew what a zombie was or how to learn from that guide.
>>
>>223810673
>>muh new standardized rifle that somehow hasn't been invented even though it's better than everything ever made before
it's not better for human vs. human warfare, it's designed for engaging zombies accurately and effectively at long ranges. No military had a reason to design a rifle that had no purpose except headshotting slow moving people at as long a distance as feasible before the zombies came

They can survive freezing and being in the ocean. That's all you need to know. Now stop being a moron whining "but dats nut reelleesteek!" about fucking zombies of all things

Once you have seen one zombie film, you've seen them all.

Yeah man the chapter where they cleared all zombies off Australia using dragons while Metallica blasted from an M1 Abrams tank was my favorite chapter too

It was already very dated in the Bush era by the time the movie came out

>muh zombies surviving freezing, organ destruction and everything that should be fatal to the body
If you're hung up on these, then you're already way too filtered to enjoy the book.
Zombies don't exist, Anon. They're not real. Neither are vampires or werewolves. They're a fictional paranormal horror monster.
The reality is, and anyone who does the math comes to this inevitable conclusion, is that it's impossible for a real fluid contracted pandemic to realistically cause any sort of apocalypse. For the fiction to work, there needs to be some element that makes the infected paranormally strong or durable.
And one of the things the book hammers down on repeat is that the zombies aren't invincible, but they are definitely not bound by normal physical limitations.

If you're gonna cop out with magical zombies that do all kinds of bullshit, you better have a badass lich going around raising the dead in your story. Otherwise you're a faggot, a piss poor writer and, some would say, a redditor.

Stories operate with self imposed restraints.
The zombies in WWZ are stupid. That's just what they are.

It would probably be better as an anthology series. Maybe Apple could do it. Zombies are cool and have wide appeal so it is marketable. I hope to God this is given a proper adaptation.

It wasn't a good book. Every story and character felt and sounded the same.

The lich in WWZ was the Solanum virus. It was a paranormal entity that was great at it's job, but it wasn't a smart one and that's why it lost.
You can accept that, or don't.
