what was the worst thing about this?
>>223806163Everything. The first episode was okay ish but then the rest just went nowhere. Francis s friend was the best unexpected cameo
OP here, thinking about it the show is really woke, so I expected for them to at least get the most basic things about mental health right. Instead they got the estranged family dynamic completely wrong, as if Malcolm was the asshole for leaving them. It's really disgusting.
>>223806191it didnt feel like malcolm. especially the fourth episode with the nonbinary girl's sad little video speech. malcolm in the middle isnt a tearjerker emotional show in any way. i also didnt like how they just shit all over him like yeah his entire character is supposed to suffer through life but making him become a single father right out of college who washes up as the director of some lame charity (with his intelligence) whilst pining after a nog was just lame
>>223806163It wasn't funny. Malcolm In The Middle made me laugh all the time. This didn't. It just was not funny. It was simply sad and weird and self loathing like Arrested Development when it came back
I was way too Hal centric. Clearly, Bryan Cranston was too involved in getting it produced, so they probably had to stroke his ego as a thank you.
>>223806163The main dude is a divorced cuck like Tobey Mcguire or somethig
Was somewhat excited for this then I saw a scene where the trans daughter gave a "heartfelt speech" about gender identity in a scene thats supposed to be serious. Refused to let this pile of shit ruin the 2000s nostalgia this show gives me
>>223807233he spent all time crying an emotionally shitting himself, how is that stroking his ego?
>>223806163The hypocrisy
>>223807303what hypocrisy?
>>223807302Because more than half the show was Hal, the entire plot revolved around Hal and it ended on some cringe video about how great Hal is. They're stroking Bryan's ego by making it all about his character and giving him all the screentime. What Hal the character was doing is irrelevant.
>>223807500That was the worst part of it
>>223806295>malcolm in the middle isnt a tearjerker emotional showThis. What stands it apart from other American sitcoms for me is that it deals with emotional problems we can all relate to but never once stops to address the camera to talk about these emotional problems in any real way. It respects the audience enough to stay in the confines of comedy, and didn't need to artificially inflate itself with character drama to seem more highbrow than it actually was.
>>223806163No president Malcolm
>>223807303That's always the worst part of it.
>>223806163I thought it was okay; I was hoping for Francis to have more screentime, but I really liked how mad chuds are about it.>>223806283>OP here, thinking about it the show is really wokeHilarious.
>>223808745there are different ways the show goes woke, but the biggest one is the main plot. There is no way the authors of this show don't know about estranged families and why it happens. Forcing Malcolm back after what the family did to him is okay to have a story but the end shouldn't have celebrated that. This is why I think it's woke: the white man (Malcolm) is so wrong, he's wrong even when he tries to do the most basic act of self-preservation, in a fashion that is praised by the wokies every day which is estranging your family
>>223809079You're estranged from your family because you're a Nazi and complain about TV shows being woke on 4chan. Hope this helps.
>>223809115I'm not estranged from my family, we're very tight lol. Even extended family. I just understand boundaries. Suck it
>>223806163Reese being a life failure and not a chef/cook.Annoying bishit.
>>223806163too good
