Don’t you understand?! It derailed 200 threads. I’d have killed that meme if I’d reported it the first time! There’s… an intelligence about the shranny, a malevolence, it’s EVIL…It… MUST BE DESTROYED

>>223875545>Pretty sure he did all his own horseriding for GenerationsYou can bet on it.
>>223875156Did Kirk invent wrestling (fake kind)?
i get the impression he did this like this because he had other incidents of running into the sets and breaking them
>>223875507he should have insisted on a better corset
>>223875592Vulcans run logically.
>>223875592He was just unathletic.
>>223875615this is truly peak
>>223875627He runs like some trekkie nerd at a Star Trek convention. I half-expected him to stick his arms back and Naruto-run (which happened in Lower Decks btw). On the other hand, that drop was pretty good for TV.
>>223875670he runs like an actor from the 60s who had 40 cigarettes and 2 glasses of scotch for breakfast before shooting
>>223875689Truly a better time.
>>223875689Yeah no. Those guys didn't run like sissies. Nimoy on the other hand
>>223875765>Nimoy on the other handNimoy literally was that guy lol
>>223875584No but star fleet did determine that its the best form of martial arts which is why kirk is constantly drop kicking, crossbodying, and double axehandling.
>>223875593Shatner wasn’t that fat overall on TOS, but somewhat pudgy for a leading actor.
>>223875779Nimoy wasn't. The kind of guy you're describing is Steve McQueen. Not Leonard 'Fat Chicks' Nimoy.
>>223875854Nimoy was an alcoholic. Also having pathetic substance addictions is the sissiest shit imaginable. Imagine needing to put tiny paper dicks in your mouth and suck them every few hours just to function.
>>223875897Nimoy ran like a queer. Most men don't.
>>223875854Also Leonard “Yentas” Nimoy.
>TOS season 3>suddenly they've cemented The Lore and they always call it the United Federation of Planets, and they mention Klingons or Romulans in episodes that don't feature them
>>223875980You're watching the evolution of the greatest science-fiction television franchise of all time.
>>223875980Season 3 may not be great but it got TOS enough episodes for syndication. Without syndication, that would’ve been the end of Star Trek.

>>223875670>>223875689don't forget Nimoy also often played native americans because of the prominence of westernsthat's his "red man run"
>>223876165Are gender reveal parties logical? Or can you at least claim they’re logical?
do Vulcans have any kind of party? parties are pretty much based in sharing emotions with people which is anathema to Vulcans.
>>223875173star trek sex with wesley
>>223876285Maybe during their pon’farrs. Or maybe a Vuclan equivalent of a party that they enjoy but everyone else thinks is boring and rigid.
>>223876216Lol was a “red man run” really a thing in TV westernsI can absolutely believe they were a thing

Tell us more about how DS9 and VOY weren't allowed to acknowledge each other or use each other's characters because of split rights.
>>223881949Yeah, but Odo wouldn't feel anything from it. Better to get freaky with Species 8472 since they consider all other biologicals to be filth, so they'd be alternately disgusted and aroused.
>>2238830928472 also has five sexes and three legs, who knows what kind of crazy fucking those dudes can do
>>223883035These were at least some gentlemen's agreements, like DS9 never touching the Borg despite being a guaranteed ratings boost. The characters thing doesn't make sense since Dr Zimmerman, the EMH for a second, and Tuvok all appear in DS9, plus the Voyager set shows up as a different Intrepid-class ship.>>223883106Nice.
>It is a genocide. I'm into it.
Do supernatural beings like Nagilum of the Prophets ever randomly encounter each other while going about tjeir existence?
>>223883181No, didn't you hear? They were LEGALLY not allowed to touch each other's stuff, even though they did... many times, in fact. That's why Voyager was off in the Delta Quadrant. Because of Paramount and Viacom. This is absolutely, 100% the truth.
>>223883240One would assume. Maybe not so much the prophets being all locked in a wormhole or whatever but I could easily imagine the Q poking around trying to dab on other transcendents.
>>223882492Data is limited by being a solid. Odo can do all sorts of depraved, unspeakable things.
I've been playing the voyager game. It's actually fun.
>>223883466>Data is limited by being a solid. Odo can do all sorts of depraved, unspeakable things.Yes but data has one think odo can never have. Data has a positronic brain. This means his brain utilizes positronium, a short lived element made of an electron and a positron orbiting a mutual point. It has no protons (or anti protons) or neutrons, therefore it has no hadrons. Therefore there are portions of Data that have no QUAAAAAAAAARK
alright guys, watching Lower Decks.

Reading up on the trivia for yesterday's episode, it turns out that the band Information Society used a line from "Wolf in the Fold" on their song "Walking Away" (when Scotty says "Let's go see"). This wouldn't be worth mentioning normally, but they also sampled Spock's line in "Errand of Mercy" for the song "What's On Your Mind" ("Pure Energy"). I knew about the latter, I just thought it was a one-off. Memory-Alpha provides some other examples from their less popular songs on the page "Star Trek parodies and pop culture references (music)" it's quite fascinating stuff.Tonight's episode is the famous (and to some infamous) "The Trouble with Tribbles". See you in an hour or so.

>>223883552It's a nice crew-management game. And you can torment Harry Kim.\
>>223883322Q would go to the wormhole, realize the Prophets are even more boring than Picard, then never go back. Not even to hid from the Continuum, they're that bad.
>>223883817Explain what you mean when you say this
>>223885260I don’t really understand how dimensionally or temporal mechanics are supposed to work in Star Trek. Like the prophets exist outside time but can see the future but don’t recognize the emissary when he first shows up and so on and so forth. It don’t make no sense.
>>223885216yep that's a schizo's stove alright
>>223885409Just don't think about it.
>>223885565I’m willing to suspend it all given I like the franchise but I wish they hadn’t played so heavily to it all the time. It’s lazy writing and they just kept doing it.>uh yeah temporal coldwar, that’s the ticket
>>223884793HIGHRRY IRROGICU
Having finished TOS, I’m just starting up TAS. I’m surprised how authentic it all feels to the original. The animation is limited and the lip sync is a bit fucky, but it’s 2/2 on the scripts thusfar. I enjoy the detailed backgrounds and more alien looking designs animation is capable of facilitating. The biggest change is the pacing due to the shorter runtime of the episodes.
>>223885613Ds9 is the shittiest crap. I have thrown physical copies of DS9 in the garbage
>>223885641Animation is gay grow a cock and balls and fall in love with some girls boobs or her but or something I’m sick of all this gay sexual undertone
>>223885651I grew up with it so I find it comfy, but I get what you’re saying. It’s not for everyone.
>>223884555Honestly, what's there to say about this episode that hasn't been said? Nice sort of slice of life plot that gradually turns into a big Klingon affair, but still focuses mostly on the Tribbles themselves between all the grain politics. The mention of the Organian Treaty was a good touch, especially since it's the justification for the whole affair of being forced to play nice on the station. That barroom brawl was expertly done, especially the long gag with Cyrano and his drinks. I don't wonder if the mayhem on this station may have served as partial inspiration for DS9, especially since I know that their anniversary/homage episode has Sisko and several others travel back in time to this stardate. An excellent recasting of William Campbell into a role that could've been just another stodgy war-hungry sort like we saw in "Errand of Mercy" and "Friday's Child". I had thought Captain Koloth came across as similar to Trelane, I just didn't realize he was the same actor until I checked Memory-Alpha afterwards.
>>223886032You should watch Trials and Tribble-ations next.
>>223886069Nah, a nice bloody steak is what not being gay smells like. You eat like a fucking faggot. Nice rabbit food schizo, no wonder your brain is atrophying. Get some protein in you.
>>223886081It'd be a little funny, but I wanna stick with release order. If it's an episode I had seen before (like Rapture, or In The Cards) I would, but it'd be my first time. I wanna save it for when I know the cast better, to understand how ludicrous it really is.
>>223875156>that gifWho the fuck was the supposed to hurt?
>>223885625Shit like this is why I keep coming back
>>223886126I think this is an acceptable sequence break for being able to see it in direct comparison to the original. This is your only chance to watch them both back to back with fresh eyes, and when you get to that point in release order you can reevaluate with the new context you've gained.I can say it is a good standalone without needing much knowledge on the characters. About the only thing you need to know is that Dax is older than she looks.
>>223886217>This is your only chance to watch them both back to back with fresh eyesYou've convinced me. This is indeed a rare opportunity. I shall return shortly.

>>223886462Just put the fries in the bag, bozo
>>223886217Immediately, when we see the pair of suits from Temporal Investigations, they reminded me a little of Undersecretary Baris and his assistant, Darvin. Darvin pretending to be Wattle in the future/present threw out that line about Kivas & Trillium, which was also Spock's cover on Organia during "Errand of Mercy". It'd be immediately dismissed as just a nod to the original series, so it serving as foreshadowing is really well done. I also thought the small bit of exposition on the Orbs was inserted quite well, though it does still take for granted that the audience knows what Bajorans & Cardassians are.The most enjoyable moments were the ones that played with the time-travel elements moreso than the original episode's plot. O'Brien & Bashir being confused by the turbolift, Sisko slapping his chest before remembering the portable communicators, and then Bashir thinking he had to seduce his own great-grandmother to save his own existence. O'Brien's complete refusal to entertain the notion was hilarious. Worf refusing to discuss the weird physical differences between him and old Klingons "with outsiders", eh. Felt the same way about Dax reading out Spock's statistics line and Sisko politely thanking her (ordering her to stop), which felt a bit hackish when they had them share a look later on as Spock actually recited it offscreen. When Darvin was talking about his statue in the halls of glory, he said that other Klingon statues tend to be very "generic". I don't know if this is another reference I have yet to gain understanding for, or just something specific to the character for the purpose of giving him reason to mention holding a Tribble-bomb (completely ludicrous, fairly enjoyable). The one thing the ending could've had to make it really perfect would be Worf's reaction to seeing the Promenade crawling with the mortal enemies of the empire, but seeing Quark balance one on his head like the K-7 Barkeep made it come very near to perfection.
Well, that was batshit.
>>223885376I'm just tellin' someone to lighten up a little! Maybe catch a flick or something!
