I don't get it
>>223879553I wish I was raised catholic so I could be scandalized by movies like this. Fake ass Church of Christ doesn't give you anything to work with.
>>223879589Raised Orthodox so I always enjoy these roasts of the Roman Catholic NGO
>>223879589they don't even MAKE movies about Jehovah's Witnesses, fuck me
Did it REALLY deserve an NC-17?
>>223879553it's not that complicateddude got metooed because he blew off some chick who wanted to fuck him and then his political enemies took advantage to wipe him out. it's "don't trust women" movie #20658
>>223880207nah, there's a couple flashes of vag but that's mostly it. the nuns get frisky with a statue of christ, that's probably the big no-no in the movie.
>>223880218I think it was the nuns showing bush that did it.
>>223879553movie ruled.
>>223880207No but it entices the reddit horror crowd>omg is that le heckin NC 17 rating, this movie must be soooo hardcore like Terrifier
>>223880232fuck off, moron
>>223880218Any amount of explicit nudity or sexual content is automatic NC-17. Directors have gone back and forth with the MPAA re-editing scenes dozens of times just to get it below the threshold.
>>223880239Cope
>>223879553>decided to see Digger instead of thisDid I miss out?
>>223880292they're both pretty good but The Devils is better
>>223879589Arthur Miller scandalized protestants, but no one does NESTED scandalizing of "both sides, infinite sides" like Rothschilds' network/buddies
>>223879589i think its less religion specific and more salem witch. By that I mean it is more a criticism of group think. Or of thinking you are better then others. Actually I think it put Catholicism in a positive light. Considering that Olvier Reed's character claimed a personal victory by becoming a legitimate believer in place of a moderate.
>>223879553You got filtered, and that's okay.
>>223880292Yes. The weeklong screening was a once-in-a-lifetime event.
>>223881649they extended the engagement due to popular demand
>>223881705nearly impossible to get tickets
>>223881820lol, the screening I went to only had 3 other people in an auditorium that hold like 150
>>223879553How to start Father Barré maxing?
>>223882011the hair is the most important part. once you have that down you can work on the bellowing.
>>223879553>Can't follow a straightforward plot that literally tells you what's happening
>>223882091The plot is just the plot, but what is the movie about?
>>223882101don't trust women, don't trust the government, all men are weak, trust in God
>>223882101
>>223882127My Dinner with Andre is about two guys having a conversation over dinner because that's what the plot is.Fucking retard.
>>223882134
>>223880275That's literally not true, there's like a million R rated movies with nudity and quite a bit of PG.
>>223879553IS this movie spooky? Will it give me the chills and a good fright?
I like Oliver Reed. Too bad he couldn't stay sober.
>dang women are crazy>dang men/church/state are wicked>was that a crocodile?>wow that's some good actingwhat's not to get? and don't say the crocodile
>>223879553Oliver Reed aurafarming for 2 hours
This movie kind of pisses me off because it just sensationalizes the most superficial aspect of the Loudun trials based on a play which was based on Huxley's book which was a pop history work and not a serious investigation. The actual happenings are more difficult to explain away (nuns suddenly levitating, developing super strength, bending back far enough to walk with the nape of their neck pressed against their heel). And of course a bunch of degenerate filmmakers in the 70s are going to make the libertine priest the hero for opposing the conservative church, when everyone who knew him hated his guts and didn't trust him for various reasons relating to his conduct. It's just a very dumbed-down version that reduces everything to political or personal motivations.
>>223881867what state?
>>223880209It hits a little harder since it's a true story
>>223882409>actual happenings>nuns suddenly levitating, developing super strength, bending back far enough to walk with the nape of their neck pressed against their heelWhat's more likely anon, that all this magic bullshit happened, or that the state of France used hysterical nuns as an excuse to execute someone who's death was convenient for them?
>>223882537>true storyNo it's not. It's heavily embellished and sensationalized for shock value.
>>223882594I really hope you aren't this guy >>223882409If so, you have an IQ below 80, and are falling for 400 year old propaganda
>>223882588What's likely is what was reported by the eyewitnesses.
was Louis XIII really a huge fag?
>>223882618Says the guy falling for modern propaganda.
>>223882636All those renaissance kings were just zesty like that
>>223882588What's more likely, something weird and not totally explainable happened a long time ago, or some sleazy jew movie producers made a semi-pornographic version of the events at a time when they were trying to attack traditional morality?
>>223879553need some other similar stuff. not necessarily just nunsploitation shit.
>>223882639>>223882691Holy shit do you people actually think demonic possession is real?I'm not going to bother arguing with you. This movie is about retards just like you, it must have struck a nerve. Respond however you want, have the last word.
>>223882715>This isn't real because the movie told me so!>I am very smart!
>>223882205More disturbing than spooky
>>223880072the movie really is about prelest lol>>223880207no it's unironically a marketing gimmick
>>223880292No, I'm going to rewatch Digger a third time rather than watch KRTD again.
>>223882715>Um, yikes! You don't actually believe that, do you?!Atheists are spiritually women.
>>223883003/tv/ is spiritually women for being so autistic
>>223882189I think the fact that's it's like 30 naked girls on screen at the same time is what gives it a NC-17 vs R.
>>223880292>goes to see Hollywood Lecture Thinly Disguised as a Movie #438980 instead of the only movie ever put to film to genuinely earn the word “kino”I hope at least your boyfriend chose so you have some kind of excuse
>>223882011>”would you agree that any possessed individual would have the demon driven out by being within proximity of the blood of Christ?”>”OH YES! >>223884314not gonna lie I laughed at that part
>>223884480there were quite a few scenes that had me laughing which i didn’t expect at all.

>>223884922Oh. Is it a lot different? I was generally impressed with the original. I found its ugliness kind of balanced and artful, does it benefit from adding some extra back in?
>>223879553>fake rape accusations by horny repressed women are used by power hungry bureaucrats to create sex panics resulting in outbursts of mass hysteriabut enough about 2026, heyOO!!
>>223885027You forgot the King was a glorious faggot and would have been a great hang.
>>223885029Did the version you saw have the nuns defile a statue of Christ with their naked bodies? That's the main edition, and was supposed to be the most important scene in the film according to Ken Russell. It looked gorgeous on the big screen though, yes
>>223885197yeah, that's not ringing a bell for me. I can't imagine another ten minutes of transgressive mayhem are gonna add much for me, but yeah seeing a restored version in theater does sound like it'd be an intense experience.
>>223885334it's like an extra 20ish minutes of more movie.
