I don't get it

I wish I was raised catholic so I could be scandalized by movies like this. Fake ass Church of Christ doesn't give you anything to work with.

Raised Orthodox so I always enjoy these roasts of the Roman Catholic NGO
>>
>>223879589
they don't even MAKE movies about Jehovah's Witnesses, fuck me
>>
Did it REALLY deserve an NC-17?
>>
>>223879553
it's not that complicated
dude got metooed because he blew off some chick who wanted to fuck him and then his political enemies took advantage to wipe him out. it's "don't trust women" movie #20658
>>
>>223880207
nah, there's a couple flashes of vag but that's mostly it. the nuns get frisky with a statue of christ, that's probably the big no-no in the movie.
>>
>>223880218
I think it was the nuns showing bush that did it.
>>
>>223879553
movie ruled.
>>
>>223880207
No but it entices the reddit horror crowd
>omg is that le heckin NC 17 rating, this movie must be soooo hardcore like Terrifier
>>
>>223880232
fuck off, moron
>>
>>223880218
Any amount of explicit nudity or sexual content is automatic NC-17. Directors have gone back and forth with the MPAA re-editing scenes dozens of times just to get it below the threshold.

Arthur Miller scandalized protestants, but no one does NESTED scandalizing of "both sides, infinite sides" like Rothschilds' network/buddies
>>
>>223879589
i think its less religion specific and more salem witch. By that I mean it is more a criticism of group think. Or of thinking you are better then others. Actually I think it put Catholicism in a positive light. Considering that Olvier Reed's character claimed a personal victory by becoming a legitimate believer in place of a moderate.
>>
>>223879553
You got filtered, and that's okay.

Yes. The weeklong screening was a once-in-a-lifetime event.

That's literally not true, there's like a million R rated movies with nudity and quite a bit of PG.

IS this movie spooky?
Will it give me the chills and a good fright?

Oliver Reed aurafarming for 2 hours
>>
This movie kind of pisses me off because it just sensationalizes the most superficial aspect of the Loudun trials based on a play which was based on Huxley's book which was a pop history work and not a serious investigation. The actual happenings are more difficult to explain away (nuns suddenly levitating, developing super strength, bending back far enough to walk with the nape of their neck pressed against their heel). And of course a bunch of degenerate filmmakers in the 70s are going to make the libertine priest the hero for opposing the conservative church, when everyone who knew him hated his guts and didn't trust him for various reasons relating to his conduct. It's just a very dumbed-down version that reduces everything to political or personal motivations.
>>
>>223881867
what state?
>>
>>223880209
It hits a little harder since it's a true story
>>
>>223882409
>actual happenings
>nuns suddenly levitating, developing super strength, bending back far enough to walk with the nape of their neck pressed against their heel

What's more likely anon, that all this magic bullshit happened, or that the state of France used hysterical nuns as an excuse to execute someone who's death was convenient for them?
>>
>>223882537
>true story
No it's not. It's heavily embellished and sensationalized for shock value.
>>
>>223882594
I really hope you aren't this guy >>223882409
If so, you have an IQ below 80, and are falling for 400 year old propaganda
>>
>>223882588
What's likely is what was reported by the eyewitnesses.
>>
was Louis XIII really a huge fag?

>>223882618
Says the guy falling for modern propaganda.
>>
>>223882636
All those renaissance kings were just zesty like that
>>
>>223882588
What's more likely, something weird and not totally explainable happened a long time ago, or some sleazy jew movie producers made a semi-pornographic version of the events at a time when they were trying to attack traditional morality?
>>
>>223879553
need some other similar stuff. not necessarily just nunsploitation shit.

Holy shit do you people actually think demonic possession is real?
I'm not going to bother arguing with you.
This movie is about retards just like you, it must have struck a nerve. Respond however you want, have the last word.

No, I'm going to rewatch Digger a third time rather than watch KRTD again.

Atheists are spiritually women.
>>
>>223883003
/tv/ is spiritually women for being so autistic
>>
>>223882189
I think the fact that's it's like 30 naked girls on screen at the same time is what gives it a NC-17 vs R.

Priest was a Protestant
Protestants had these huge walled up cities in France
Cardinal was Catholic and had the ear of the King
Cardinal wanted to remove walls to more easily subjugate protestant Cities
Loudun had walls
Priest had friends in Loudun
Priest fucked his main protector's daughter and got her pregnant
Priest's protector got a cuck to pretend he's the father
Priest's protector joined in with conspirators which were now heavily outnumbering Priest's allies
Cue in Holy Inquisition (of a sort)
Inquisitor has trouble setting up a sham trial
Inquisitor starts talking to a nearby sororitas convent
Inqusitor gets all these sequestered women who never saw the Priest to indulge in their wildest masturbatory fantasies which are presented as devil's corruption
Priest gets put to the question, he does not sway
Priest gets put to the hard question
Priest gets broken on the wheel
Priest never admits his guilt
They burn him alive because the torturer did not strangle him beforehand as he promised

Anything else you want to know?
>>
>>223884922
Oh. Is it a lot different? I was generally impressed with the original. I found its ugliness kind of balanced and artful, does it benefit from adding some extra back in?
>>
>>223879553
>fake rape accusations by horny repressed women are used by power hungry bureaucrats to create sex panics resulting in outbursts of mass hysteria
but enough about 2026, heyOO!!
>>
>>223885027
You forgot the King was a glorious faggot and would have been a great hang.
>>
>>223885029
Did the version you saw have the nuns defile a statue of Christ with their naked bodies? That's the main edition, and was supposed to be the most important scene in the film according to Ken Russell.
It looked gorgeous on the big screen though, yes
>>
>>223885197
yeah, that's not ringing a bell for me. I can't imagine another ten minutes of transgressive mayhem are gonna add much for me, but yeah seeing a restored version in theater does sound like it'd be an intense experience.
>>
>>223885334
it's like an extra 20ish minutes of more movie.
