/tv/ never gave this kino the respect and appreciation it deserves

fitzgerald did nothing wrong.
>>
Leos acting is hard to take seriously though. He's trying so hard to get an oscar in it
>>
>>223914619
there’s no thematic point to the film beyond bear rapes
>>
MUH PELTZ
>>

>there’s no thematic point to the film

- Anti-racism: the protagonist defends his adopted native american son from white men that hate him for being native american and want to kill him.

There you have 1 theme.
>>
This movie triggers me because it isn’t inclusive. Do better chuds. Jim Bridger could have been trans.
>>
it insists upon itself

>le 'lets make a fake movie so an actor can campaign for an oscar' movie
>>
tom hardy was way better than leo in this one
unironically think it's his best film
>>
>>223914817
ok but lets be for real the only person that seemed to hate natives in that movie was fizgerald and the reason for that was because he got fucking scalped. If you got your head turned inside out by a native american during the 1850's would you seriously preach about muh racism bad.

This. Same for Tom Hardy and Gleeson. The movie is okay. The scenery is breathtaking, both beautiful and bleak, and I love the soundtrack but, yes, the acting is too much.
>>
birdman is one of my favorite movies and i enjoyed digger. but i hate this piece of shit.

Wasn’t true to the source material AT ALL.
>>
>>223915781
That is true but I don't remember the rest of the guys in the group defending the native american kid. Maybe because they didn't want any trouble with Fitzgerald.
>>
>>223914619
Hardy's characterization is poor and hard to believe. It is Nemesis tier
>>
>>223916319
well its not really their job to defend the kid either. Fitz does seem like an asshole but considering how they just got out of an ambush where they saw a majority of their men die and lost their furs i would be pretty pissed too. I don't really understand why you would take your kid on this type of expedition where death is around the corner in general either.
>>
Not a fan of the ways this was directed. It's all very throwaway and it just gives away that the material is shallow.
>>
>>223914619
The book is way better. Iñarritu is a pretentious twat

I don't think he had an alternative.

>MUH pELTS

This movie did not need to be 2 and a half hours
>>
>>223914619
I wish all of his movies were like Birdman.

The true story is way better. The action scenes where kino though
>>
>>223914619
>muh pelts

>>223917144
this I couldn't help doomscrolling like an adhd zoomer during the vision scenes
>>
>>223914619
Watched it in theaters. It sucked. DiCaprio was given an Oscar out of pity.
>>

It's the last time a pushed and critically lauded Hollywood movie was good
