Functioning fine so far, no symptoms visible except not as intelligent or focused as I used to be, no shakes/yellowing yet. I rarely day drink, but every night once I start I don't stop. Had severe sleeping problems as long as I can remember, my dad was the same way and it helps. General health is fine, somewhere between lanklet and skinnyfat (6'5", ~200lb). I finish 1.75L of vodka a week, that's apparently like 40 drinks a week.
I understand that I need to quit before its too late. Im 26 and have been drinking hard liquor since like 19, drinking ramped up at 21 since I was then able to get it easier.
I dont get aggressive or violent when I drink, I dont know, its a cure for boredom, and helps me cope this soulless slop world, you can actually feel music and emotions, it brings out the soul.
I love alcohol and dont want to quit, but I know i should.
I got diagnosed with JME (form of epilepsy) at 17, so I shouldn't even be drinking at all. Luckily I have no symptoms like the shakes, I just get bored and irritated.
The worst/scariest symptom i got was really bad hypic jerks before falling asleep, I dont know if that was because I took a break from drinking or was just stressed or a combination of the both of what. Was indeed pretty scary, doesnt help that im a hypocandriac either. Scared of diseases and I also drink to calm to nerves, but drinking can cause diseases, ultimate shit paradox.

Like others, I get the shakes, and sometime halluinations(I never even knew this was a thing until the beginning of this year when I first started getting them). The hallucinations is what made me want to stop and my longest streak was about 2 months and a half until I went back. I'm currently barely 3 days sober. No. I very rarely get black out drunk. I can drink so much i get the spins, they suck hard.
But it takes a lot.
Even when I know im pretty drunk, I still appear normal. Like I still have a sense of control.
My parents have banned me from drinking so I take one of those Fiji water bottles, empty it out, and fill it with vodka, and sneak it into the house.
When i wasnt living with them and drinking straight out of a bottle, I could finish 750ml in 2~4 days.
My drinking has been all over the place, sometimes I binge drink hard, sometimes I only drink a little, and sometimes ill go days without drinking.

I quit cold turkey a month ago. I haven't had a drop since. Not even on my birthday. However the urge to get wasted has not even weakened in this month. Every single day I'm pining for a drink. I registered with AA, but I have a feeling that that is for people who CAN'T stop the drink, and I already did.

I quit nearly 3 years ago.
At the end i was drinking 4 50CL beer just to get lit, then 1L of vodka (sometimes rhum), every day.
After a year and half i didnt have urges anymore, now i definitely dont want to drink ever. if you're addicted, drinking is better in your head than in reality.
Id stay away from AA they're a yeshuist cult, so its designed to make you feel powerless.

I went out drinking last weekend and think I got roofied...I had like four drinks over the span of three hours and then instant blackout after going to take a piss. I managed to walk back but fell over multiple time face forward and back smacking my head and shit. Passed out in a ditch and and abandoned building and thought I was being chased by demons. I'm a heavy weight drinker and have never experienced anything like that before
