films that /tv/ said were shit, but actually they're kinda good

its great
the other anon who was crying about it a few nights ago
called it >edgy teenage bullshit.
there is nothing edgy about it, if anyone is familiar with how Mike Leigh makes movie,
basically improvised over and over and over until he is happy with the dialogue, it is all recorded then the actors do it "for real" sticking to the way they delivered the lines verbatim
>>
>>223915751
I’ve only ever heard it praised here.
I however have avoided it because I thought the book was shit.
>>
>>223916353
its not based on a book
unless you mean you read the screenplay
>>
>>223915751
movies shit but its expected that redditors you here would enjoy it
>>
>>223916455
Is it not based on the David Sedaris book? Kek have I really been dodging it for now reason
>>
>>223916589
its the least reddit movie imaginable
the "hero" is an actual rapist
>>
>>223915751
its alright
but i dont get "sebastian hawk", what did he add why was he there. cut his scenes out and the movie is the same.
>>
>>223915751
It's good, but the second half is a lot weaker and the second rapist character was kind of pointless.

It's a great movie.
There was a thread the other day where everyone was shitting on it. Calling it edgy teen shit etc.... Just ridiculous nonsense.
And it turns out the only reason they didn't like it is because they expect every character in every movie to be likeable. And Johnny is a complete prick in this movie so they were VERY upset.

Like, the thread was full of complete mongoloids.

It's a movie about characters. That's all.
Sebastian was the dirtiest slimiest BASTARD on the planet. He was there to be a complete and utter bastard. And for Sophie to put him in his place when she pulls a knife on him and he shits himself.

>He was there to be a complete and utter bastard.
And be damn good at it.
