>>223921756Because tv shows have to sell to the mainstream audience and for that they have to be the most "normie" possible, you make something too deep or about history and normies don't care because it implies thinking too much. Now go and make something about sex like Fifty Shades Grey or about romance like Twilight and millions will go watch it. Or something simple as a Spider-Man or Avatar movie where everyone can just turn off their brains and just watch the espectacular action scenes and special effects. Same reason why everyone knew that Digger wasn't going to be successful at the box office.
