It's so fucking over. Tiktok won.
>>
i wouldve expected it to have been going down since 2021, with covid ending and all the other streaming services popping up
>>
The buy Korean, Turkish, Indian etc slop shows strategy and the "making shows so simple and slow and repetitive that someone on a smartphone can follow" a company wide policy didn't turn out well.....lol

It's still nowhere near enough to call it justice, chud take but Netflix is at least 25% responsible for normalizing all forms of decadence and garbage, Netflix is the symbol of the endstage globohomo cancer and 100 years from now, the same way we refer to "Weimar" Germany, will the future generations refer to "Netflix" West.

Yawn

Why do people invest when they can just spend all their money and enjoy life?

>peaks when they release something that's actually popular that people want to watch
>declines because there's nothing else people want to watch

Wow who'd a guessed?

>Tiktok won.
so do people just sit on the couch and play tiktoks on their tvs now for hours instead of watching movies or tv series?
>>
Netflix is such dogshit background noise at this point.
Idk how it's even possible to have ZERO (0) unit shifters at the number of shows they produce.
>>
>>223921942
quick, delay 3bp for another year
>>
>>223922865
No they put AI generated background music on the tv via youtube and look at tiktoks on their phone

the bigger question is why did it go up so much in 2024/25?
>>
>>223921942
>the dip in 2026
was Stranger Things that popular?

>The buy Korean, Turkish, Indian etc slop shows
I don't think this is inherently wrong, especially for a global company but if you even watch a single one of those shows the algorithm will not stop recommending the rest of them and its fucking annoying

all the money is in live streaming sports and concerts and netflix fucks up every big live stream they do.
>>
Seeing Tiktok as their competition was their downfall to begin with, who the fuck wants to pay for a streaming service that just peddles the same brainrot you can get for free? I'm sure the endless secondary screen slop they pump out has better numbers in the short term but in reality they're just eroding their core audience which is people who want actual real films and tv shows

>reddit derangement syndrome

who could have guessed giving Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano 3 million to fight was a bad idea

you have to go back

The whole current Netflix model is stupid and unsustainable. It worked better when they could just license everyone else’s stuff, but when every company with two IPs to rub together started their own streaming services, they largely lost that option, so now it’s:

>The need for an endless stream of “content” drives them to greenlight anything put in front of them
>They throw a Hollywood blockbuster budget at even the most niche slop (member Sense 8? Me neither), most of which is cancelled in a single season
>They’re marketed on the “binge” model, so they release an entire season at once, and everyone just consooms, brain dumps, and forgets it instantly
>Even for the few that hit big, they take 2-3 years between seasons, so it loses all of its momentum, and most people have lost interest by the time it comes back

the mistake was ever trying to do ad free for series. 80% of the library was literally produced to be watched with ads, audiences dont mind the normal amount of ads when watching friends reruns. immediately became a race to the bottom and theres no way to recover from replacing a $100/mo sub (cable) with a handful of services at 9.99 that is undercut by free promos and password sharing. fucking morons killed the goose.

true, watching House MD without ad breaks is ridiculous, or Law and Order
