The rover was bleak and what would happen in a mad max situation before it really went apocalyptic. The pretty girl rock scene was hilarious.
>>223922941Posted about this in the last thread. Was a good movie. As for Mad Max, you can imagine that it takes place between Mad Max 1 and 2, Mad Max takes place in the outskirts of Melbourne, and so there are more people around, there's more violence, but The Rover is Rural New South Wales, and the disparate towns are just slowly collapsing, because if you've ever been to those towns, they basically already just look like that. Some "towns" are a few houses scattered around a main street that had a petrol station, which is also the supermarket, a pub with a hotel, and maybe a church.

>>223922768No one lives in Australia, it's all fake. You can look at the world maps and see cities there but they only have like 1000 people living in them according to Wikipedia.
>the castle>mad max 1>mad max 2>mad max fury road>picnic at hanging rock>wake in fright
>>223922768Woah woah woah, a dead person probably looked at those flags when they were alive, why didn't you put a disclaimer before your post? And have you acknowledged the original caretakers stewards owners blah blah of the land those flags are planted on?Shame!
>>223923524One of the greatest comedies of all time. It's so hilarious that australians of all people think they can be white nationalists.
The problem with our cinema is that it's all produced by champagne socialists in Melbourne through Screen Australia (government financed and thus subject to political agendas). People who didn't grow up or hang out in working class suburbs or go to public schools. People who've never spent extensive time in the real outback or been to a town that services a lot of remote communities. What you see in Australian films is always pretentious slop that's either romanticized (abos) or bleeding heart preachy (whites).
>>223923712No, the real problem is your government has made no serious attempt at making any steps to being a first world country so any serious arts program will always be a government funded propoganda farm by retarded university students. There's no private film industry that has a financial incentive to find something new and be competitive, like you're describing. I'm not saying the private sector will always create quality it's just that it's infinitely more likely to do so than some shithole extraction economy government will.Ultimately this all comes back to the Australian government refusing to invest in white collar industries and instead just dump all its money (not really cash but government backed loans) into rock extraction technologies and firms. 60% of your country wears hi-viz to work - this doesn't make you guys cool or hardworking it just means you're the best version of the Congo or Saudi Arabia. You're at the cap of what a third world country can acheive. It's a hopeless paradise. Everything looks nice aesthetically but the only opportunities lie in pulling rocks out of the ground or building stuff for the guys who pull rocks out of the ground or cutting the hair/waiting the tables of the guys who pull rocks out of the ground. This does not make for a supportive economy for independant artists. It's why American culture will slowly wash over this shithole because your government just wants a slave caste of rock extractors driving Rangers and saying cunt, thinking that's the extent of life. There's never going to be a film industry here because there's no way it could service Chinese open pit mines. It's why Australia's cache abroad is in the toilet. Everything every American knows about Australia is from YouTube and it's because they were looking up something and an Australian happens to have a channel about that subject matter. Now I'm stuck here because I have $40k in debt stateside I can't go back to. Comfy place though, people are nice
Australia has a significant culture problem where anyone who is creative, artistic or even literate is considered a tall poppy poofter that needs to fuck off.God I fucking hate Australia
>>223924347So true. I have an IQ of 132 and have always been a creative daydreamer. I have severe PTSD just from growing up here.
