I don't get it
>>223923498they aired it at 4 am. it was meant to fuck with people who were drunk or whatever not really paying attention. at first they think it’s just some old sitcom but as it goes on it dawns on them that it’s not real
Completely forgot about thisIts absolutely incredible
>>223923498You need basic media literacy to understand. First off the name "Too many cooks" is references the line "too many cooks spoil the broth." In this case the show is a representation of what happens to a show when after a while it starts to get stale and on the road to cancellation so they start adding new characters to "bring life" back into the series. Then it starts changing up genre as a means to continue the franchise. It's not something done now but back in the 70s-80s it was a typical thing to do with a show.
>>223923498It takes a lot to make a stew
If it was released today people would think it was AI
>>223923498There's too many cooks
Too Many Cocks

>>223923498Someone already did a writeup on how zoomers lack the cultural context to understand the humor of this. Frankly zoomers lack the cultural context to understand ANYTHING. They're basically soulless dead machines.
>>223924434>to be fair you have to have a high IQ to understand garbage sitcoms
>>223924541No, you just need to have ANY iq at all. Zoomers have none. They're not alive. They're literally just automatons.>>223924225Gorilla nest status?
>>223923679I thought it was gonna be a joke post at first with that beginning sentence. Holy Reddit, dude. Reminding me of that Rick and Morty copypasta.

>>223924867It isn't. Nor is anything else you try to recite as truth from looking up on wikipedia.

>>223923498I use this as the reverse "Hawk tuah" litmus test for IQ. If you cared about Hawk tuah and didn't get Too Many Cooks then your IQ is exactly 100.
The topless chick is pure goon fuel.

>>223924577>>223924609No, I'm right. You're just retarded. When I watched it when it first came out I turned it off not even half way into the intro song because I got it. Didn't need a short film on how some TV shows die slow deaths due to executive meddling to keep it afloat.
>>223923550they aired this shit in a primetime(for as) slot for a whole week and advertised it as if it was a brand new series.Absolute kino
This was arousing??

>>223924035I mean there's a reason nobody does it nowadays
It's actually a commentary on creepy interpretations of innocuous media. Postmodernism's fundamental flaw is that creates new arbitrary distinctions that ignore the mechanical processes inherent to media production and insists there's some "dark truth" hidden behind the curtain. This is how you end up with Millennials obsessing over creepypasta and Zoomers making endless videos about how cartoons all take place in Hell. Ask any of these people to recount the actual plot of the things they consume without going metatextual and they'll crumble. If we operate under the principle that sitcoms are simulacra of daily life then we've already subjugated ourselves to a dialectic, that there exists reality and unreality. Everyone innately understands that a thing which continues too long will become tired, that's the law of entropy. The problem arises from attributing this to malice or corruption when it's just a natural consequence of media's ebb and flow. It's also incredibly short-sighted to pretend like all television is a permutation of itself. The very notion that people can interpret a buddy comedy different from a police serial is proof enough. Context matters and when you ignore blatant structural differences it's very easy to invoke a false notion of chaos and disorder to everything.
