Politics, DEI, focus groups… fuck it, and read the writing on the wall. All you have to do is keep abreast of the zeitgeist, entertainment news, social trends, and box office. Great example: Jenna Ortega. So X is a film about porn people and murder, and then Jenna tries to become the next DEI Julia Robertsguez. But her filmography is a disaster, and look at these bombs. You could tell she can’t pull a picture as far back as 2023 and yet they still kept trying to wish her into trying to become lucrative just because she’s brown. Beetlejuice and Wednesday were long established ips that relied heavily on Jenna looking like a ghoul. There’s no fucking indication that she’s a future sex symbol or a future leading lady film draw. She has none of the charm of a Marisa Tomei or a Rosie Perez.So what’s the problem? Poor people aren’t poor enough right now to separate themselves far away enough from the shit Hollywood creates, because it’s all they know. So we’re in a shitty part of the cycle where there’s a ton of imitation and pandering going on, and people have forgotten how to be more original because DEI and focus groups seem safer. But that shit is actively destroying Hollywood. And they don’t understand it’s not that people are racist, it’s that they keep hiring people with no charisma trying to force the public to like them just based on their race, sex, etc.
