It upsets me that the extended cut has in effect become the standard cut. If you're a zoomer then it's probably the only cut you've seen. That's a bad thing because every one of its additions makes the film appreciably worse. Sarah's group taking refuge with the Mexicans is something that occurs mostly offscreen in the theatrical, but it comprises a long and unnecessary sequence in the extended. Not only is it boring but it contains the most objectionable instances of cringey comedy and sentimental bonding between John and his Terminator.
