I cant' tell if this was making fun of or supporting woke. Please explain to me /tv/ so I'll know if I can like it or not.
idk if its woke or chud but eyes that far apart? man its just sad
>>223925880Kind of both. Some light, irreverent teasing of woke-adjacent things but in a way that makes it pretty obvious the filmmakers support those things. Very minor part of the movie, not really important either way.I think wildwood might be the most visually stunning thing I've ever seen projected on a cinema screen, and I say that having seen Odyssey in 70mm.
>>223926563It comes off as making fun of Portland to me, but they obviously like Portland since they set the movie there.
>>223926563> and I say that having seen Odyssey in 70mm.That makes me question your judgment in general if that’s your benchmark
>>223926724I'm talking strictly about visual beauty here, not about any other aspects of either film.Odyssey in 70mm imax is an assault on the senses regardless of whatever else you might think about it. You should go see it in that format if it's still showing near you. It might be the last chance to see a fully 1.43 15/70 photochemically produced film for a very long time, if ever.Wildwood's storytelling is quite flawed and if it were a live action film or a basic CG animation then I don't think it would have got much attention. But it isn't... instead it's a (mostly) handcrafted masterpiece, and it's so fuckin beautiful and soulful, and it felt impossible to care about anything else.
