>>223928539Is it true he didn't make it big because he refused to partake in hollywood's 'rituals'
>>223928568Yes. He had such PTSD from what he was subjected to that he became a Christian in the early 00s doing B movies but after his second divorce he got involved with a vegan gooner Buddhist lady & is now into a different branch of the faith.

>>223928539Funny enough I recently saw him in some found footage horror film on Tubi (forgot the name) where he plays himself and almost instantly gets killed on camera. I said "huh it's that guy from Starship Troopers". Shame he didn't really get bigger than he did.
>>223928539All I know him from is Starship Troopers and Sleepy Hollow, I know he was in one of the sequels of Starship Troopers but I have not seen it yet.His acting in Troopers was pretty amateurish I'd say, but in a very interesting way it fits the character of Johnny Rico perfectly, in an almost meta way, where in the film he's supposed to be this kid (this 30 year old kid) who's in way over his head about entering the miltary and then trying to avenge his family as he's now facing the world alone...What I'm trying to say is that depsite him not being the best actor I believe he was the perfect choice for that part, he's quite iconic in the role and I don't think that finding a better actor would've necessarily improved the character in this partcular case. Not to mention, most the actors from the "young cast" in that film are not the best all around and that feels like a very intentional choice, to give it that romcom cheese that gets contrasted with the brutal violence of the action scenes...the only one from the younger people that really felt legit to me was Neil Patrick Harris, but he's a sleazeball, so he's definitely not part of the "romcom cheese" element. But to be brutally honest with you, I don't think he would've gotten very far even if he got cast in more roles. He's just not a good actor in my opinion.
