imagine if (You) were hired as a script doctor / senior editor to unfuck this series. how would you do it? here is my attempt:>john and hal get along but don't trust each other>hal is ready to let go of the ring but only after john is ready and knows what he's doing. hal agrees with the new "train your replacement" policy of the guardians.>first mission is a softball one, and they learn to trust one another. missions have a similar format that can be followed throughout the season.>no manhunter, no boring "stuck in rushville" shit, just two grown men completing missions across the US, like MIB, hunting dangerous aliens as well as nice ones.>they connect the dots and see a trend, these aliens are here for similar reasons>big reveal: the bad ones all work for a mid-level boss.>john and hal work together to defeat the mid-level boss, who is revealed to be under control of Sinestro.>Sinestro tries to recruit john. john refuses. they seemingly defeat Sinestro and put him space prison. the reveal is that it was a clone. the real Sinestro is still out there.
