what did i think of it`?
Roger Ebert's review for this one was hilarioushttps://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-lovely-bones-2010
>>223930345The pajeet being considered a chad was the most unbelievable part
>>223930345i dont understand why her boyfriend was a man in his 20's playing a school kid. what's even more strange is the fact the director made them kiss. she was 13/14 during filming, he was 23. no body doubles.
So why is Saorsei Ronan being spammed
>>223930345I am sorry both for the author getting raped and for the wrong guy who was sent to prison over it
Serial killer stories set in Boomer Times just leave me shaking my head. Doesn't the girl in this story follow a creepy guy into a "Kid's Playhouse" in the middle of a fucking cornfield? They really were that fucking dumb and naive. By the time I was a kid, you'd be running like hell in the opposite direction. The feral zoomers and alphies running around today would probably beat the guy to death with a hammer and record it for tiktok.
>>223930345the funniest part.An italian Mafioso who killed a girl in the past watched this movie, felt gulty and self ratted himself and his crimes to the police.all thanks to this movie
>>223931958I don’t think the the pedophile look, which Stanley Tucci’s character completely embodies to a T, was a known thing back then. So I can have some sympathy for her getting tricked.
>>223930345Never seen it.
>>223931958>The feral zoomers and alphies running around today would probably beat the guy to death with a hammer and record it for tiktok.no, that’s what millennials did. and then every millennial male watched the videos after they uploaded them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dnepropetrovsk_maniacsnot aware of any zoomers going outside yet but once they do who knows what madness will occur!
>>223932825Been a minute, was he a pedo or just a killer?
>>223931958We still had a high trust society back then. Part of me thinks turning a bunch of Project Phoenix degenerates loose on the American public was deliberately done to break that down.
Rape scene? What did it show?
imagine it was called the lovely boners haha.
It's the worst movie in the Beetlejuice Cinematic Universe.
It felt like misery porn. A guy does an unspeakable thing and then the rest of the movie is just a bunch of taunting situations that make you think the guy might get what's coming to him but then he never does, and when when something bad finally does happen to him it's just a totally random accident that's over in an instant, guaranteeing that no actual justice can ever be served. Overt pessimism like this isn't unrealistic but it doesn't make for a very good story either.
>>223930461Chill bro Mr. Tumnus thought her everything back at his trailer when they filmed atonement
>>223934762I remember reading they had to reshoot the killer' death scene because test audiences were furious that he just fell down and went out painlessly from a broken neck or something like that. I've never seen it, just a random factoid that stuck in my head for some reason.
>>223933530that would be inappropriate and in very bad taste
>>223930345I've never once thought of any movie like this until lovely bones but it insists upon itself.
>>223935245that basically means “pretentious” which I don’t think describes this movie very well. it’s just kinda stupid lol
>>223930345that it was an inferior retread of What Dreams May Come
>>223932687Link?
How in the fuck do people not talk more about how colossally fucked up the books ending is?It's straight up hentai tier ghost possession rape sex, on the part of the protagonist.
>>223930345It has an actually scary killer
The most unrealistic part was the dead girl's sister finding the killer's notebook with plans for his murder dungeon plus a bunch of other hard evidence and how it's just kind of shrugged off. The minute word of that got out (and it definitely would) it would catapult this guy to national serial killer superstardom. He'd be up there with Gacy, Zodiac, Son of Sam, the Night Stalker, all those guys. That town would have a whole pack of media vultures descend on it. They'd give him some kind of spooky nickname. Every square inch of his house and property would get pored over by hordes of federal, state, and local cops looking to make a big splashy arrest for the newspapers. Someone murdering random hookers or Injun women on the rez can slide by unnoticed for years, but an actual, no shit serial killer targeting young middle-class girls and taking locks of hair as trophies is absolutely not going to get swept under the rug in America.
