Do streaming services think people hate black boxes that much?
>>
>>223931158
They shoot shows/movies to have everything in center of frame so it can be cropped for tiktok's ratio

I Think it's the syndicators fault not the ones who buy them. but idk

maybe the image quality is low but that doesn't even look like pothole so what does it matter
>>
What an awful idea and it just encourages pirating and buying retro dvds.

the joke is funnier in the 16:9 format, it looks like george is yelling about nothing

THe kind of people who watch streaming service junk get really mad about "unused real estate" on their walmart tv's.
They don't understand aspect ratios at all.

I hate living in this fucking square timeline
This is square stupid and square gay
I wish I live in the round screen timeline
lenses are round, so you would always get progressive, nicely standard round formats. Y-radius screen, X-radius screens, Z-radius screen, all actually increasing detail and resolution while losing no data
No faggy 1:16, 87:64, 3:5 and every other faggy made up screen, every single movie having to be filmed with one particular ratio in mind and being BOTCHED on every other ratio
I hate this angular world

the deep part of imagination, for things you believe are true

you don't actually believe cameras record square pictures natively don't you

this is a shitty holdover from the days of home video rentals. properly scaled, cropped, formatted + aspect ratioed videos were erroneously interpreted by millions of complete dipshits as "busted" or incomplete due to the empty space at the top and bottom of the tv where no image needed to exist. they had the whole perfect thing in their fucking face, but incessantly called the video store to complain "it wasn't filling my tv". it set off massive confusion bombs and it simply wasn't possible to educate or enlighten all these brain-dead morons across america, who were already struggling with VHS vs. Betamax. definitely blame illiterate retard boomers for this.

Yeah. Then it happens the other way too. What I mean is, when I watch M*A*S*H on MeTV, they zoomed the image so lots of stuff is missing....because morons complained that the native square image didn't fill the sides of the screen. :|
They used to show the native 4:3, but not anymore.
>>
For me it's when I want to check out some retro vidya gameplay on youtube and virtually every single video has the original 4:3 ratio image stretched to widescreen. Apparently people play through entire games like that, just so it can fill up their entire monitor.

Infuriating when it ruins jokes or leaves out information. So if the image is 4:3, they ruin it by zooming it in, or they get really lazy and crop it to make it an artificial 16:9.

Worse, everyone's TV has settings that force the image to fill the screen, so retards are ruining for everyone because they're too incurious to see what their own TVs can do.
