he didn't just pull it all out of his ass

Luke isn't anything close to a mary sue, he's a protagonist complete with flaws going through a basic hero's journey.
>gets his dad's lightsaber from the old sage who's been keeping it for him
>loses his only living relatives (that he knows of) and goes off on an adventure
>almost gets killed in the cantina
>needs Han and R2-D2 to save him in the trash compactor
>needs Han to save him again during the Death Star battle
>almost dies on Hoth
>trains with Yoda for a good while
>goes to confront Vader, eats shit and almost dies
>trains, returns stronger and saves his friends
>returns to Yoda to continue his training
>confronts Vader and the Emperor and succeeds only by redeeming Vader
Meanwhile, Rey does basically all the same things without any of the hardship.
>finds BB-8 and the Falcon through pure chance, no inciting tragedy for her call to adventure
>meets Han who all but adopts her upon their first meeting, is better at flying and maintaining his own ship than he is
>gets given Anakin's lightsaber by an old alien woman who just had it for some reason and who gives it to her despite not even knowing who she is (but that's okay, it's a good story for another time)
>can use the jedi mind trick with no training
>frees herself and doesn't need the other protagonists to save her
>can use the force and fight better than Kylo, who's been trained in the dark side
>spends maybe an afternoon training with Luke and is now good enough to confront Snoke, Kylo, and their elite guards without a scratch
>uses fucking force lightning without training
>kills Chewie (oh wait no she doesn't lol that would imply consequences)
>confronts the Emperor and defeats him easily because she's just that special
