This show is fucking bad. Every character is just bland and unlikable and the ones people like from BB (Saul and Mike) are just neutered versions of themselves in BCS. Every scene just gets dragged the fuck out like they struggle to fill in the 44 minute time slot.

It took a major nose dive when Chuck died and it became less about kino brotherly dynamics and more about the fantastical comic book cartel adventures you see in Breaking Bad.

He was some slimy dude who found his niche as a criminal lawyer. That's it. Way to destroy all the mystique of the characters by rinsing the fuck outta them. Odenkirk doesn't even act like Saul for 90% of the show, so we just have this bland, undercooked version of a character. Then we have all the meaningless standoffs between characters we know survive into BB. Ohhhh what tension! I wonder if Gus is going to kill Mike here!? Not to mention, a lot of the returning cast look old asf, which ruins the immersion that it's a prequel. They should've just made a series of shorts about Saul and his gang having to deal with a different case. Not a bloated, 6-season memberberry origin story for a funny lawyer character.

It was good but held back by being tied to Breaking Bad. We didn't need every single BB character to appear. A few, sure, but they brought back everyone they could. It had too much focus on Gus. Mike being as major a character as he was would have been fine, but they just sucked off his character the whole time instead of writing him well.>The seasoned old guy people liked from Breaking Bad? Well what if he's even MORE badass but also he's giving moral lectures to everybody and his entire community loves him and he's skilled at every professional trade and everything horrible he does is actually for a morally just reason???BCS is fantastic when it's being its own show.
