Stargate, by contrast, is the most aggressively mid scifi franchise on TV. It's one step above Power Rangers with none of the excuses of being a kids show. They want this dude to save your dead shitty franchise because it was run into the ground with five bad seasons of SG1, the never-great Atlantis, and the embarrassing Universe. All of this being the work of the original teams, you all hold on a pedestal. And yeah, they tried to do a serialized show and shit the bed with SGU so someone that knows how to do it is not some great betrayal.
