JANE! Get me off this crazy thing! CALLED LOVE!

This movie is a kino guilty pleasure and always one of those dumb movies I can watch anytime. There's just something fun and silly to this movie and 90s San Francisco is peak kino.

After Austin Powers was a hit, Paramount asked him to adapt Sprockets (an SNL sketch about a West German talk show host) because MM refused to make a new Wayne's World film after get got fucked over with no lube by a power tripping Paramount executive who hated MM and tried to sabotage the sequel out of malice and spite.

The Sprocket script was shit and everyone told MM to not make it, but the power tripping bitch demanded it get made and ultimately sure MM when it became clear he would not make another Austin Powers film, let alone the planned Austin Powers animated series if he had to make Sprockets.

The whole thing was settled out of court and MM basically escaped with a deal that he would make another film for Paramount: a live action version of The Cat In The Hat, which was coming off the heels of a successful live action Grinch Who Stole Christmas adaptation.

The Cat In the Hat was such a huge flop and such a horrible film, that it caused Dr Seuss's estate to ban any further live action films of his work.MM took all the blame and more to the point, after his follow up film the Love Guru (about an Indian spiritual guru played by MM who helps Justin Timberlake, playing a lovelorn hockey player, find love) also flopped huge, it pretty much spelled the end of MM's career.
