To drive home how insanely fat this country had become. There is no way in hell socialized medicine could ever work in a country like this with as many fat people as there are.

Carrying that amount of weight makes military PT pretty difficult. He also had no bicep strength as he couldn't do a pullup.
>>
why not just stick in some army outfit

Ego. The sergeant was so sure he could break any man and would not admit defeat.

you mean take the vaxx or you get to pay for healthcare but not receive it?
>>

I don't know if you're serious but something like that would have to exist given what we're doing with. Any insurance network relies on low risk premium payers. When you have a huge number who are not low risk, simply due to their weight, and, furthermore, argue that obesity is not actually unhealthy, you cannot have a sustainable system, at least not without prohibitively high premiums to keep it afloat.

you're missing the point of public healthcare.
its not an insurance, its a safety net.
it HAS to be subsidized by the government because no average joe can ever pay enough in to afford a cancer treatment at age 60, even if you pay your taxes your entire life, you will never pay in 300k for the surgery or hip replacement you're gonna need in old age.
social security doesnt have to run at a profit, its not supposed to be a regular insurance, its a public service that is necessary because the other option is letting people die in the streets like animals.
the fire department works the same way, but you don't ever hear anyone arguing that they need to operate at a profit.

should people be healthier? absolutely. but pinning all of this on fat people is dishonest and intellectually lazy. health is too important to play the blame game with

by army boot camp standards and he would still be considered right at the limit today.
