You could do more with a series, maybe even dedicating entire episodes to different layers of the frame narrative, with a new guest writer/director every episode. It should be an overly ambitious mess or they shouldn’t bother adapting it at all.
I for one am content with this not being made into a feature film, especially in the era of the death of movies

The best way to "adapt" House of Leave would be to do it Adaptation style where the movie is about a guy trying to adapt House of Leaves and he goes through a schizo rabbit hole after realizing the author may have been inspired by real stuff while writing it, so the experience of watching the movie is similar to the experience reading the book
