They wouldn't but you could make some fucked up situations where they could've been twins, the male twin dies, and the male twin is now some schizo delusion in the surviving twin's head.
>>
>>223949970
Yes.
Can easily do the key moments in the series with draco and have dracaena as the love interest that changes the story appropriately.
The added family drama on top would add more to both characters and allow for exploration of the pureblood inbred wizard population.

I don't really see the point. I mean I guess you could do something like Jaime and Cersei (minus the incest) where they start out really similar but diverge as Malfoid slowly changes for the better. But honestly just sounds like a mess.

The reason the Malfoid trend has lastest this long when most social media fads die off within days is because it is the first trend to embrace industrial production of memes with AI, it has destroyed the competition in the attention economy just like the factory btfo the independent artisan in 1800.
The future is now.

No, actually.
The AI shills are hard at work tying itself to the malfoid trend and like a feminist taking credit for work of others and claiming it as their own victory and an inherent virtue of their cult.

>>223950174
They litterally started it. But normie girls and harry potter stans have run with it and made it something else.
The trannies are desperate to make it a tool to manipulate normgroids. But it's only revealing how much the normies hate all media they've taken over. The harry potter show is going to be hated while this fanfiction universe is going to take off.
I suspect Rowling will be writing some of the fanfiction about this and lurking in many malfoid social media bubbles.

>>
>>223949970
I mean >>223949984, I'm sure could be wholesome but it wouldn't be as good than Draconia alone. For me, where she really really shine is in breaking the segregation barrier that subtly exist between the House Slytherin and the rest. It works because of Draconia's position, which is basically the queen of the Slytherins, the same way Draco was the king, and because of the reciprocal semi-public love between them.
If Draco still existed, the tension would remain due to his rivalry with Harry, and the Slytherins would persist being seen as unfrequentable nazis.
With Draconia being with Harry, Slytherin maintain their beliefs but aren't ostracized anymore.
Maybe Rowling created the House system to cover the fact she really wanted to isolate the Slytherins because of their conservative beliefs.
The mere existence of Draconia and her mutual love for Harry blows the fuck out this crypto tyrannic system conceived by Rowling, and the different Houses now cohabit in harmony.

> The harry potter show is going to be hated while this fanfiction universe is going to take off.
Your perception is skewed because you spend so much time in certain corners of the internet. Most people don’t hang out on X, Reddit, 4chan or fandoms.
The series will more than recoup its costs. That's the only thing is matter to Rowling and WB. The Cursed Child was written absolutely terribly, yet it still sold out, even in its printed edition. Even the game turned out to be quite mediocre, yet it saw massive sales.

>while this fanfiction universe is going to take off.
lol. If you look at the AO3, you’ll see there’s always been a massive influx of people into the fandom all this years. but it doesnt metter. it isn’t nearly as powerful as you think.

> I suspect Rowling will be writing some of the fanfiction about this and lurking in many malfoid social media bubbles.
she’s far more likely to write something exact opposite. She hates girls like malfoid and pansy - something she has stated on many occasions.

Where do you think most of the people who are still into harry pottter are anon?
Social media spaces and places filled with people that are deeply entrenched in social media spaces.

They can't escape it. And WB and Rowling knows it.

Of course it will recoup losses and make some profit. It looks beyond cheap as fuck and are getting blackrock bucks for certain messaging and changes to the script. It's making money before it ever takes off.

Lastly, mary sues are always hated by her. However malfoid acts like a posh and evil version of hermione from the book.

My strong feeling from the update schedules on a few Malfoid fics is that everyone's just scrambling to get the shit done. You can go really, really fast when most of the plotting is already done for you. Some of the writing may just be that it's the first draft.

Are you actually stupid?
The primary paying consumers of HP aren’t chronically online weirdos. They are normie-parents who actually would buy merchandise from the series and keep their subscriptions active for their children.
Warner Bros. are having massive sales of HP related content in China and across other non-English-speaking regions. Like "Harry Potter: Magic Awakened", for instance, launched in Asian markets first, bypassing Europe and North America for three or four years.

Draco wouldn't serve any purpose in the story and it would needlessly create a social web of nightmarish complexity. Remember, the reason why Malfoid works so well is because Draco is a girly character without depth and character growth.

You could re-invent a male Draco alongside Dracaena, but that would shift everything else in the story orders of magnitude more. Stories are like a butterfly effect: change one small pre-condition early and the chains of plausible future events changes radically.

Realizing that you shouldn’t humiliate/insult others based on their blood status (and that Voldemort is evil, being death eater suck, ect. ) is not the same thing as smearing yourself in the filth of impure blood, destroying traditions and severing ties with your own family. Especially marring an orphan raised by muggles, someone whose friends and entire social circle promote values alien to your own, and who, on top of that, hates your own family.

>And constantly losing academically to a mudblood also affects her, even got her ass kicked by her.
lol. What a load of bullshit. Were you homeschooled or something? Or you from asia? Because of her attitude toward her studies, Hermione doesn’t have any female friends. Malfoy would probably try to keep her grades down, even if she were a straight-A student. To the average school girl, being a nerd is just repulsive.

>Draco
>without depth and character
I'm rereading the series this is very true, at least in the first three book. It feels like he has no internality, he's just placed in front of Harry to oppose whatever he's doing in a given moment. One of the only times you get insight you get into his inner thoughts is when he speaks in the shop scene without knowing Harry can hear him, and it fits Malfoid perfectly.
>“What’s the good of that if I’m not on the House team?” said Malfoy, looking sulky and bad-tempered. “Harry Potter got a Nimbus Two Thousand last year. Special permission from Dumbledore so he could play for Gryffindor. He’s not even that good, it’s just because he’s famous... famous for having a stupid scar on his forehead....”
>Malfoy bent down to examine a shelf full of skulls.
>“...everyone thinks he’s so smart, wonderful Potter with his scar and his broomstick —”
>“You have told me this at least a dozen times already,” said Mr. Malfoy

i've yearned for fictional characters for a long time, malfoid is just the most perfect one. and i'm tired of just yearning. i want to know what being loved feels like.

What the fuck is this drivel? Can you even form a coherent thought fucking retard?
Let me explain the Hermione thing since you are such a fucking imbecile, through her entire childhood Malfoid has been hammered with the notion that she is better than mudbloods because she is pure blood, she MUST be better because she is pure blood. She would not be keeping her grades down because she HAS to represent her superior family, yet there is in her classes a mudblood girl who constantly proves herself to be better than her, and that would fuck with her mentally.

Harry is a half-blood and the Malfoys married half-bloods in the past.

And holy sheit femanon, how many times do we have to say Malfoid is not supposed to be representative of the average hoe? Her caring about her grades is based on Draco doing so. The problem with Hermione is not having good grades, but being seen as a know-it-all. On that point, I agree that Malfoid should't come off as a tryhard, but that doesn't mean she would get lower grades on purpose.

The consensus seems to be they get close/start a relationship in book 4, things sour in book 5, low point in book 6, and a variety of options for reconciliation in the last stretch.
I was wondering, How would you go about planting the seeds for romance in the first three books? They're still too young, I think, but surely you can give their rivalry some distinct flavour to make the following relationship feel more earned?
>>
>>223951383
You have not yearned nearly enough. Be patient. Practice it daily. Yearn enough and you will come out Lovepilled. At that stage, you will find physical reality to be far more malleable than you though! It's like magic, but real.

>>223951469
The Sectumsempra scene's main problem is that nobody has been able to make a good re-write of it. Heavy physical violence made a lot of sense for Male Draco / Harry. Not for Malfoid, especially if they have dated or have grown to love each other.

The advocates of Sectumsempra are just desensitized to extreme gore and vulgarity. Harry Potter is here giving a thousand cuts to the girl he loves and she will forget about him nearly killing her with torture in... about 6 months, when Voldemort comes to school and is mean to Harry. You can have a "low point" in a enemies-lovers without bloody, medieval torture. At least have Snape or someone there within five seconds to make the medieval torture a bit more temporary if you insist that some type of physical torture is mandatory for the plot. Having Malfoid be unbothered by torture would reflect very poorly on her character. What is she, trailer trash npc that falls for Harry no matter what he does?

Malfoid is a spoiled girl, always gets what she wants. Harry is the first to reject her and call her on her shit. They always argue and compete with each other, that naturally brings them closer. A moment in the Dark Forest where they meet Voldemort and Harry protects her despite just arguing with her I think would plant the first seeds.

>Thus she's blindsided and taken aback when Harry chooses Ron over her. Begin the seething!
>Being a natural broom rider, there should probably be more of a chase before she throws away Neville's remembrall.
>Chamber of Secrets: Malfoid's blood purity snobbery should peek around here. After Hermione stands up for herself, and Malfoid sees that Harry isn't buying her brand of magical superiority, this should start her on the path of introspection, at least over the summer.
Prisoner of Azkaban: She torments Harry by pretending to be a dementor. Becomes the dementor who is kissed. HER FATHER DOESN'T HEAR OF THIS. He does hear about Buckbeak. Malfoid wants Hagrid to face consequences, but balks when her father wants the animal killed. Thus she participates in the rescue when Harry and Hermione go back in time. I reckon it's best she stays out of the Marauder business, and instead makes peace with Buckbeak and rides him to drive off werewolf Lupin. Naturally, once they're back to their respective houses it's business as usual.

Well, finally, someone else has fuking noticed this. It’s such a bizarre scene involving a female character/love interest for many reasons.

There’s really no need for him to follow her all the way to the girlroom. After all, the only natural reaction for a girl to have upon finding a boy in the girls' restroom is to scream and call for help. Even if Malfoy didn’t do that, Myrtle would have alerted every teacher in the vicinity within a second.

In my view, a heated, hysterical argument between them because she’s on the verge of a breakdown. - during which they either confess or hurl cruel things at each other - would be more than enough for drama/angst. That alone is more than enough to widen the chasm between them.
Malfoy could even end up injuring herself while running away, which would then pave the way for a reconciliation in the hospital wing.

The Sectumsempra scene is Harry's fault because he used a spell he had no clue of what it would do other than the "lol use it on people you hate" scribble. And Harry had no earthly idea what Malfoy was up to, or what he was going through, only later finding out he was crying to Moaning Myrtle of all people.

If in the Malfoid version we go by what has been crafted earlier in the threads about the Lucius events in Goblet and Order starting to strain Harry and Malfoid's relationship, something else needs to happen for Harry to be angry abd reckless enough to use a spell meant for his "enemies" on someone he supposed to care about and have somewhat better understanding of than the canon counterpart. Otherwise you can't have that scene happen logically.
>>
>>223952391
what do you suggest then?

>The Sectumsempra scene is Harry's fault because he used a spell he had no clue of what it would do other than the "lol use it on people you hate" scribble.
Yeah that's why I hate it. I realize Harry is supposed to be flawed and reckless but what he did there was beyond retarded.
>>
>>223952395
He doesn't willingly use sectumsempra. That was the first thing that popped into his head since he was practicing that spell for days at that point in time.
Even in the original story he has no idea what it does and is horrified by what happens to Draco.
>>
>>223952129
Can't say it was my favourite either but at least it makes sense in the original context. Draco Malfoid is an annoying mosquito, a Death Eater. He was recently the top guy of evil Dolores Umbridge. It was plausible for idiot Harry to use a spell that was meant "for enemies" against someone like that.

>>223952165
Accidents have to be believable. Draco was a genuine enemy to Harry, Malfoid isn't. Not in the Half-Blood Prince.

Not using spells without having clue of their effect is year 1 stuff that Harry should reasonably know. He's almost ready to duel with Voldemort. Yet the idiot Harry is here torturing his future wife big oopsie style. The girl he has loved for years more than he has admitted to anyone. Why not use Dobby or something useless for target practice. I simply do not want to see Malfoid bloodied on the bathroom floor.
>>
>>223952211
Malfoid would hit puberty hard the moment Harry speaks to that snake.
>>
>>223952395
How about this, Harry and Malfoid start seeing eachother in book 6. They get really close, maybe share a kiss whatever just before Christmas vacation. During Christmas vacation Lucius finds out about the relationship and demands Malfoid to end it, fearing what would happen if Voldemort would find out, Mafloid begrudingly agrees to end it. Vacation ends they are all in school again and Malfoid meets Harry and ends the relationship, Harry takes it badly demanding to know why and Malfoid dodges the questioning leading Harry to believe it was all another cruel joke, that Malfoid hasn't changed and just toyed and played with his feelings the threw him away just to hurt him and he gets really angry.
Then Harry goes into the 'Malfoid is a death eater and i'll prove it' thing which leads to the sectumsempra scene.

It's not an "accident" it's Harry being completely fucking retarded and using a combat spell without knowing even what the hell it does. It wasn't even very convincing that it was Sectumsempra that won the battle, Draco was about to use crucio and Harry hit him before he got it out. Perfectly reasonable to assume Harry could have hit him with pretty much anything at that point, to save himself and beat Draco.

Get rid of the scene with the her Cruciatus and Sectumsempra - just scrap it entirely. It’s cringey and immature.
Honestly, it baffles me that you don’t grasp why any form of physical violence (whether accidental, in self-defense, or born of hysteria) is completely unacceptable. It doesn’t matter that he/she didn’t know or her didn’t work. It completely ruins things for them, trust.and romance especially.

You can write as many apologies or internal monologues as you like, but a character’s actions reveal their true intentions: Draco wants to torture his "crush," and Harry mindlessly carves her up like a pig just because he decided to test a new spell on his "beloved." In the original, it works because they’re both boys who hate each other.

Also, dare I say that the main reason the Sectum Sempra scene no longer works is purely that Malfoid is Malfoid and not Malmoid? There's some sense here of
>You're not supposed to hit girls
when discussing it. What seemed at least understandable when used against Malmoid suddenly becomes completely unreasonable when used against Malfoid. And it's because you're not supposed to hit girls.

Even if Malfoid were a straight villain there'd be a sense that Harry was too far over the line doing that.
>>
>>223952622
Nah. Sectumsempra has to be kept it. It's very iconic and shows their relationship reaching rock bottom
>>
>>223952586
>this, I don't under what's so hard to understand.
It's not that anyone doesn't "understand." There's nothing you are explaining that isn't already understood. In fact I probably even understand more than you imagine about why people love the scene. It's still retarded, forced drama because Harry's actions are utterly ridiculous and unbelievable, even against male Draco much less Malfoid. The "he trusted HPB" "no idea it was dark magic" "draco was about to use a forbidden curse on him" excuses pass sanity check. Seriously what kind of retard uses any kind of weapon in combat without knowing what it does?
>>
>>223952659
They're not in a relationship at this point, Malfoid is a death eater and pulled away from everyone. She's on her mission to kill Dumbledore to save her family. Her attempts have gotten Ron poisoned and Alicia cursed, Harry suspects she went evil and thinks she is loyal to her family of death eaters not knowing her real motivation
>>
>>223952659
You would have to rewrite waaaaay more of Harry Potter for Malfoid to be someone Harry would ever go for in a million years. Harry immediately dislikes Malfoy. From the moment they met. The first thing Malfoy does is shit on Harry's only friends and family in the entire world: Ron's family, Hermione, and Hagrid by going on a blood purity rant like an autistic chud and bragging about money. There isnt one single positive interaction between any of them. She'd need to be rewritten as basically a guest party member during some major shit early on.

And shed have to drop the blood purity shit publicly early, Harry would not get the hots for someone who gets their jollies off calling his best friends slurs to their face.
>>
>>223952173
I'm not even against Sectumsempra, it ought to be included in some form. The image of Malfoid with a 1000 cuts would be so iconic that people outside the Malfoidverse would know the reference. That visual imagery is intensely powerful. But it can't go too far. "Have Snape conveniently there to save her fast" is just a quick example of how to damage control idiot Harry's retarded action of nearly killing his future wife. There's "recklessness" and then there's not using unknown spells on people you love.

Neither deleting or incorporating the unchanged MaleDraco-version of Sectumsempra is ideal. The golden plot is twisting it just slightly to make it less nauseating, while keeping it shocking enough to make anyone's blood boil.

>>223952336
For the book format it might enough to just do shouting, but to perfect the story for visual media (movie/series) it needs to be iconic and memorable. That is the strong point of the Sectumsempra. Powerful visuals.
>>
>>223952689
you can keep it so long as you give Harry a reason to use a dubious cursed written in the back of a potions book on your girlfriend in the heat of the moment

>>
>>223952700
>Seriously what kind of retard uses any kind of weapon in combat without knowing what it does?
Read the god damn book, the spells from the book up to this point have been mostly harmless.

• Levicorpus: A jinx that hoists the target upside-down into the air by one of their ankles.
• Liberacorpus: The counter-jinx used to release someone suspended by Levicorpus.
• Muffliato: A charm that fills the ears of anyone nearby with an unidentifiable buzzing sound to prevent them from overhearing conversations.
• Langlock: A hex that sticks the victim's tongue to the roof of their mouth, silencing them or stopping them from casting verbal spells.
• Toenail-growing Hex: A minor hex that causes the target's toenails to grow at an unnaturally fast rate.

Harry thought the Half Blood Prince was his friend, he had zero idea Sectumsempra would be that deadly
>>

I think they are simping for their malfoid

>>

>"Have Snape conveniently there to save her fast" is just a quick example of how to damage control idiot Harry's retarded action of nearly killing his future wife
Snape is under an unbreakable oath to protect Malfoy, he has been tailing him the entire time. It's why he was able to drag Malfoy from the Slughorn party so fast as well. I swear you retards just watch the movies
>>
>>223952689
Actually, I got it. Change the rest of the scene around it. The problem is that Sectum Sempra is following from a conversation which establishes who is where and what they're doing, which adds more intent to Harry. Too much intent. He can still be angry and angsty and all but he can't do it knowing for sure that it's her.

Instead, Harry enters the bathroom not knowing who's in there and Malfoid hides. He gets his wand out. He asks who's there. Nobody answers. The air is thick with tension. She jumps out of a stall to cast something at him, violent or less violent, he spins around and the first thing that enters his mind is Sectum Sempra, which he casts before he resolves who it is. Much to his horror, it's Malfoy.

She can understand this in the moment as him really hating her, so it tags pretty much all the bases for what people want.

I think there's some other stuff you'd have to change around it but the kernel of the idea works.
>>
>>223952722
Harry to put it simply has no reason to give a fuck. He's disturbed by what the spell does but Malfoy still started it by casting an unforgivable curse at him immediately. Harry was fighting for his fucking life so he used a spell "for bad people" because he was staring down death itself.

This, I have the book too and it's still Harry being an idiot walking in on Malfoy as he is trauma dumping to a ghost. The whole Malfoy shot first doesn't matter when its Harry engaging the confrontation first and then in his hatred for Malfoy stops giving a fuck and does something reckless. The whole scene was just misery porn, and it makes less sense in the Malfoid version.

This is another thing I'd write out if it were me. I'm not sure how Harry fixes it on his own but I'd like to see him fix a few more of his own problems, especially by that point in the story.
>>
>>223952805
This and the YA dystopia books that followed Twilight. For all of Rowling's failings, at least she didn't half-ass as much as those books did.
>>
>>223952845
Yeah same. Snape can still put two and two together when he sees that she's been nearly split in two by a dark curse cast by Harry.
>>
>>223952845
Yea this was a cop out in the books, but ultimately it has to be Snape in some form that helps out because the Sectumsempra counter curse needs to be applied fast or the damage becomes permanent.
>>
>>223952816
Doesn't Snape have a job though? A job that isn't tailing Malfoy everywhere?

I get your logic, but it's still just a bit too convenient.
>>
>>223952843
Malfoy was in a public fucking bathroom with the door unlocked, anyone could've walked in on him. If I walk in on you mid trauma dump and you shoot at me im gonna do anything i can think off to make you fucking stop its a restroom not your goddamn therapist office. Go to the slytherin chamber or at least enchant the fucking door to not open for a few minutes malfoy, youre practically a woman already, no need to rewrite you at all actually and harry would never pick your smelly dead bloodline because youre a bitch to his friends.
>>
>>223952743
Nope. Teenagers don't pick up a mysterious grenade-shaped thing that says "use on your enemies," carry it round and pull it out randomly when you get into a brawl in the bathroom. You don't throw it at the other guy and then pretend like it's his fault when the grenade blows him to pieces and shrapnel slices your own face to ribbons. "HE WUZ A TEENAGER" is no excuse.

Also, have you all fucking forgotten what Harry has been through already in the other books? He fought monsters and enemies every single year he was at Hogwarts, from Trolls, Dementors, and a motherfucking Dragon not to mention Voldemort himself. Harry (unlike Draco) had actual combat experience. He spend much of 5th year training other students in practical defense, culminating an all-out battle with Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries.

What kind of total retard really thinks Harry would not realize a spell "for enemies" might be really dangerous?
>>
>>223952871
technically his "real job" is being Dumbledore's triple agent spy, the hogwarts job, being Voldemort's assassin, or even being Malfoy or Potter's babysitter are just means to the end.
>>
>>223952871
He was potions master and classes werent in session at the time so he can go wherever he wanted. And no one in that entire school could or would stop Snape from fucking off from class anyway. Reminder he 1v3'd the absolutely strongest teachers and they couldn't lay a finger on him. Snape is terrifying.
>>
>>223952890
>Malfoy was in a public fucking bathroom
He was in the girl's bathroom, Moaning Myrtle's bathroom specifically. Totally not an eyebrow raiser
>>
>>223952891
Harry fell back on survival because Malfoy was literally trying to kill him. Stop defending the little twerp who should've gone to Azkaban for life. Thats how serious Crucio is. And as if Malfoy would've stopped there. Harry remembered the spell and wanted Malfoy to stop. If Malfoy had died, Harry wouldve gotten away with it too, their wands have memory in the core and an Auror can detect what spell was used recently. So theyd have seen Malfoy spamming Crucio like an asshole and Harry would've fucking walked.
>>
>>223952891
>Teenagers don't pick up a mysterious grenade-shaped thing that says "use on your enemies," carry it round and pull it out randomly when you get into a brawl in the bathroom.
Sectumsempra spell written in Snape's book is nothing of the sort what the fuck, you are reading so retardedly into this goddamn. The way Harry understands the for enemies text is like this: For enemies ;)
He reads into it like it's written in wink wink nudge nudge way and he has no reason to think otherwise from how friendly HPB seems from everything else he wrote into the book and the other spelss he already used.
>>
>>223952779
>tripling down.
Moron, YOU are fooled, because you're retarded and Rowling knows it. Harry shouldn't have been that stupid. He was, and that's (part) of what makes the scene shit.
>Harry thought the Half Blood Prince was his friend, he had zero idea Sectumsempra would be that deadly
Why should friendship have any fucking thing to do with it at all? A friend can still teach you a deadly spell that you can use in a situation where deadly force is actually called for.

And hell, what if it did nothing? It turned out to be an extremely dangerous slicing spell, but what if it was just a slow-acting stomachache that wouldn't be noticed for days? Harry would have wasted the spell and been crucified by Draco.

No, there's no salvaging it from being a stupid thing that Harry would have never done.

The scene works in the context of original Malfoy because it’s logical:
a) they hate each other
b) they want to inflict pain on one another, both overtly and covertly.
b) they’ve gotten into physical fights before, but this time things just went a bit too far.
d) It leads to nothing but even greater alienation.

In fact, keeping any phithical fight with Malfoid is some a gay-coded shit: where two guys or trannies fight like greeks, only to realize they’re both into cocks

They would never get to that point. The sectumsempra scene is the least of their hypothetical ship problems. Harry is not a japanese beta who gushes over a tsundere who treats him and his friends like shit. He'd been treated like shit his whole fucking life. You'd have to completely rewrite her part from minute 1. By the time Dumbledore's Army was standing up, she'd have to be taking Snape's role as a double agent basically.
>>
>>223953023
It's an excuse, not a reason. You can't just invoke "teens do stupid things" to excuse any completely nonsensical behavior you feel like. Given Harry's experiences from books 1-6, book 7 provides insufficient reason that he would ever use a random spell in a combat situation with no fucking clue what it actually did (whether it was more OR less dangerous than he guessed). Him spending the whole of book 7 obsessed with Snape's book doesn't justify it at all.
>>223953049
Yeah and it's absurdly overkill, the mistake doesn't actually make any sense for Harry to make.

It's shitty writing and you should just stop trying to defend it on anything but raw emotional grounds. Stop pretending like the scene is genuinely earned, because it's not.

The reason people want sectumsempra in is because the image of Malfoy lying there vulnerable, dropping her icy persona and asking Harry "Do you hate me this much?" creates a lot of yearning for a lot of people. The way I would do it is separate the whole thing into two distinct scenes. One is the bathroom confrontation, which is just words and angst. Then a second scene where Harry sees someone sneaking about, maybe sees the tattoo and suspects it's a Death Eater. They have a duel during which Malfoid realises it is Harry and stops, before Harry throws the sectumsempra at her. He then tries to heal her himself but in the end Snape has to do it since it's his spell.

Harry reflexively using a spell he has never used in a high-pressure situation is another thing that simply doesn't pass the bullshit detector. If people are so desperate to keep Sectumsempera they should weaken it to do less damage to Malfoid. Still a gruesome spell however.
Otherwise just don't do it. As people have pointed out, in the original it's one boy following a boy he hates into the boy's bathroom and them casting spells at each other.
There's already two reasons it doesn't work if you make Malfoy a girl and they actually love each other.
People are so addicted to the imagery that they don't understand the lack of logic to the scene.

>Invading the ministry and getting his godfather killed in book 5 was pretty retarded.
Severely reductive summary of what actually happened.
Harry basically had a binary choice: was the vision real or not?
Once he had mistakenly trusted the vision, the main stupid thing he did was try to use Umbridge's fireplace to check on Sirius (which, itself, was actually NOT a stupid thing to do and was done at Hermione's urging). What he should have done was go to Snape or used his two-way mirror.

So the question, when comparing to sectumsempra, is whether it's believable Harry would have made those mistakes. And the answer is pretty obviously yes. Harry didn't think of Snape because he tries to avoid thinking about Snape whenever possible, because Snape is most definitely not his friend. And who knows why he didn't think of the mirror. Maybe Rowling had forgotten he even had the mirror. That's kind of a major plothole tbqf.

Every other decision from that point isn't really retarded. It's desperate because it's a desperate situation.

None of that is remotely comparable using a random unknown spell in a duel.

Unironically just do it a lot. Read through what you have written, decide what is shit about it, learn from it. You have to be good at being self-critical and introspective, lots of writers are miserable fucks because of this. It isn't one skill either; there's character development, pacing, atmosphere, dialogue, narrative progression. Different writers have different strengths. You just improve by looking at what you don't like about your writing and doing it again until it is better.

Can anyone recommend some decent fanfics (not AI, preferably completed)?
There are literally thousand of works under the tag "Female Draco Malfoy", but the most-liked ones are kinda trashy: like up to 80-90% copy-pasted text from Rowling (or worst, processed through an AI), with 10-20% poorly written filler (always in a different style if it's not an AI) ?

Writing is scary. I have a general outline of what I want the theme of my Malfoid story to be, and I have some scenes written out (in my mind) but others I have no idea of how to solve.

>>223953785
No, I mean... how do I write dialogues, and actions, and emotions, and describe the environment and stuff... I suppose I should just copy Rowlings style in this case.

In that case I'd start with writing the scenes you have and seeing how it looks. Don't worry too much about how they'll connect, you're just getting a taste for it. Then write out more bits as you think of them. Eventually the idea for how to do the whole thing will become clear. Then it's just the tedious work of actually typing the words into your computer terminal.

Think always of how you want the reader to feel.

as soon as its finished, I will replace all the chapters in the originals with the rewritten ones and then read through the entire books again

Imagine one of the most horrific moments of your life: a sadistic teacher suddenly transforms you into an small defenseless animal, spins you through the air, and slams your fragile little body against the ground nearly breaking your bones.Or even shoved into a fat classmate’s underwear in front of everyone.
You can’t scream. You can’t even breath. You have no control over your own body. Only pain, humiliation, and an inability to fight back.
Then your "crush" (or boyfriend) keeps reminding you of this like it's a fuking joke.

The only completed one I've read is Waltz for One, and while it is really good if you like angst and yearning, it is just a self contained thing and not a complete retelling of the story.

There was an AI duel between Malfoid and Harry, they were spamming spells, randomly Malfoid shot spells into the ground, but she summoned snakes to fight. It was pretty cool but I can't find it anymore. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I read a good chunk of it and I wasn't a big fan of how he was developing the early parts of Malfoids story.

I'll keep following because I want to see how he'll solve some of the pivotal moments.

What, no complaints about Chudley Chuddington?

It wasn't THAT graphic and it ended up being plot relevant. Plus story relevant, with the conversation on the Yule Ball dance floor.

I'm open to hearing about whichever ones people think are better though. I'm caught up on that one.

It happens in year 1 with the troll and Hermione too. But you're not gonna talk about that. KYS

That’s not how it works. Writing is a skill, just like drawing. Even if I have an interesting plot in my head, I still need the skill to craft it Just because I can string words together into sentences doesn’t make me a decent writer.

I'm writing a fanfic about Bin Laden working with a group of dark wizards and the 9/11 attacks being a double attack on both muggles and wizards in america..
of course people in the deep state know that wizards exist so they work with them to fight back.
they learn that one of the UK death eater who escaped somehow gave the secret of the horcrux to that mysterious group and they turned it into a sort of hivemind/soul merging spell that make them very powerful and hard to kill.

Potter and Malfoid are recruited by the magic CIA as consultants to find the death eater that they know.
ton of fighting, all sort of monster in caves, entire villages being used for masse sacrifice etc... political intrigue with russian wizards helping the dark wizards.

well I need some "good" wizards and soldiers to die fighting the dark wizards.
the UK has like 10 wizards who can fight... it's not enough.

nah, their goal is to become a living Allah and reign over the world. so first they need to take down Iran and SA.
at first the magic mossad helps them but it goes bad for them so they go cry for help to the magic cia.

It all feels like the author taking advantage of the trend to insert his very own yuri relationship fetish into the work. Making it heavily plot relevant for the pairing of Harry and Malfoid is just icing on the shit cake. Might as well be a writer for the hbo series.
>>
>>223954536
I did forget to mention that Rowling, or whoever was doing Pottermore, knows nothing about the timeline of American history so suspend your disbelief for a while while reading that side of the garbage extended universe.

Can't wait for the sequel where they supply US backed militias in Libya with wands to overthrow Gaddafi because he wants to stop trading in Gringotts-minted Galleons.

I'm gonna talk about this.
Hermione was crying alone in a restroom, the only one who followed her in there was a disgusting vile troll. Do you catch that? A fuking predator going into a girls' restroom after a girl.
Rowling wasn’t exactly subtle in her writing, because the point is to teach children what bad people are actually like.
Who else cornered a girl alone in a girls' restroom? Tom Riddle. The main villain.
But who was blamed for this? Who could enter the girls' restroom to do something bad to Myrtle in the eyes of society? An half-giant, the kind of beings that magic racist assumes are half-beasts driven by filthy instincts.

I'll grant that if and only if it keeps coming up. Otherwise I think he's been doing good.

Also, it's been most of an hour, no one has suggested one they like better and the only other response to that post was A Waltz for One which isn't even really a response to the question.

Nobody else wants to take a swing at a recommendation?

it's a great concept.
Harry will become very good friends with some of the american soldiers and at the end it wil be sad because he will have to erase their memories.

In the sequel, the conspiracy theorist Lovegood writes a book claiming that 9/11 was an inside job orchestrated by the magic government itself.
