This was obscenely good. I've been told to avoid season 2 but this first season was so fucking good I find it hard to believe season 2 is THAT bad.

S2 is merely weak at worst.It's decent.It's nowhere close to the drop in quality that The Witcher or especislly True Detective had.
The best way to put it, S1 took a sex scene and made it kino.S2 took a sex scene and made it cringe.S2 is worth watching for the conclusion. But it's carried by the first season

The thing about this show, is that the main characters kind of don't get to actually have any character? Or at least, they start with some but the entire purpose of the show is very explicitly to sand down and grind away the stuff that makes them actual distinct people, and turn them into mushy-huggy-feelings-friends. And that's kind of annoying, because the concept of having this character of Jinx who is ostensibly "evil" (though like, not actually) and willing to do fucked up stuff, but her entire arc is her re-discovering her actual-but-not-literal family which removes her entire unique aspect and turns her just into a generic weepy girl, is really stupid. Meanwhile on the other side, all the non-main-characters get the opposite treatment, where they just sort of start normal and then just slowly spiral off into being horrible, broken people with no real motivation. Also, and I think this is probably the more important part; Literally nothing is actually accomplished in the entire runtime of the second season.
