What is /tv/ opinion on this chinese meme film?
>>
Bullshit film meant to further push anti-AI propaganda to Americans.

It's pretty neat how the Chinese are jews and cattle all in one.

A $200 movie playing in theaters is incredible
>>
>>223952159
Yes, incredibly fucking stupid. There's a camrip on YouTube of the full movie with English subtitles. I skimmed through a bit of it. It's basically 5 Finger Family-tier nonsense
>>
>>223950836
SOVL, but I watched a camrip and it's boring as hell once you get over how absurd it looks

It's meant to be seen with friends IRL.

That's literally the reason people go see it. To laugh at the production value and how this thing made by a literal retard managed to make it to the silver screen. Same as anything made by Neil Breen.

Incredible how low the standards for Chinese Cinema are.

because you don't get half the inside jokes about china parenting culture or the selling point/origin story of the film making it a true china cultural film. only lasts half of the film before literal executive meddling turns it into a vanity project though.

It began as an earnest but poorly made animated kids movie that nobody cared about. At some point though, someone made a meme about it and it went semi viral, spreading to western platforms. People began to mock the low quality graphics and question how something so bad could be promoted by Chinese cinemas. At this point, many hypersensitive and nationalistic Chinese, who constantly think that anything other than glowing praise of anything Chinese is somehow a direct and personal attack on their glorious people and the communist party, began to try to reframe the narrative.

Hoping that somebody would pay to see AI-slop? Absolute delusional retards.

I havnt watched it fully but i just started it for a bit.
It seems wholesome. The simple graphics and music remind me of zelda, but there is something else that makes it easier to chill and watch and relax. The scenes last a long time. Modern TV and Cinema has reduced scenes from like 7 seconds in the early days of movies down to 3 seconds down to half seconds and constant moving attention.
Nui Lei has several seconds, long scenes, with peaceful music. It may be designed for children to process dialog but it makes it more relaxing. It may be seen as amateurish but it gives it charm here.

The Chinese are more open to AI animation than us. I think they also have at least one AI animation tv show. Then again, apparently not that open.
>>
Oh are those cows from some movie? I've seen them in manhuas (chinese and korean comics always have cringe immersion breaking references to current day popular culture) and assumed it was just some obscure chinese meme.

>Incels here can't see why normies would support a shitty movie made by a dude and his mom on their bassement for 5 years without any type of support

The movie is filled with so much unintentional QUALITY memes that is not a cringe fest, but actually funny.
