Couldn't tell you because your imagination is the only place that this actually happens, in reality they just cut the patches and symbols off and put the otherwise complete uniforms and gear back into storage for the next big project. You can bulk order custom embroidered patches factory direct from china for like 5c a piece, prints are even cheaper, 3d printing and some rub n' buff for all the other little metal bits.

Fresh/replacement uniforms are also chinese make and have been for like 20 years, there are no domestic suppliers that make full reproduction ww2 gear anywhere in the USA currently and of the major US suppliers there is only one company that is based in california (but warehousing and shipping actually operates out of UAE and the gear itself is chinese make)

So going back to your original question hollywood actually makes no money from uniform acquisition, it spends money and most of it goes overseas.
