To be fair to Cooper, he brought a gun that should have bodied the spino. It should have easily splattered any of the dinosaurs. Instead they're immune to bullets, which no one told him. So I can sympathize that he's feeling a little sad and betrayed

True. There's a reason why the original Jurassic Park made it so that they mainly had access to tasers and other non lethal weaponry. The moment you add modern weapons to a dinosaur scenario, it becomes very silly for the dinosaurs to pose any threat at all.
