Treehouse of Horror sucked this year, usually there's at least one segment that's okay
>>
>>223956129
What are some spooky episodes for Halloween that aren’t Treehouse of Horror? Lisa the Skeptic and the Xfiles episode is what I’m going for

Forget about the Treehouse episodes, the unironically scariest thing were in normal episodes:

Lmaoo anon this takes me back. I remember watching that episode with Ernest Borgnine before bed as a kid and being creeped out by the Deliverance and Jason references
>>
>>223956253
When you know it's referencing deliverance and Jason these moments are funny, but when I was a kid I didn't know, that made the episode 10000 times scarier.

They really blew it not doing an Obsession one considering the movie was inspired by the monkey paw Treehouse
>>
>>223956129
The scariest thing is still watching thr Simpsons in 2026.

Let it go, man.

Modern Simpsons suck in general, in the past the Halloween episodes stood out due to how weird they were compared to regular episodes, but now all episodes are weird nonsensical Family Guy tier shit, the VAs sound like they're about to drop dead at any second and the animation aside from the stop motion intro sucked real bad, I dunno if they got a budget cut or are losing all their money of the VAs who keep asking for billions, but the animation in Nu-Simpsons looks fucking awful, it looks like those Canadian Flash animated shows from the late 2000s now

>but now all episodes are weird nonsensical Family Guy tier shit
lol that has been the case since the Tomacco episode, Family Guy even has an identical episode.
>>
I watched the latest treehouse of horror episode and the scariest thing about it was marge's voice. There show is just broken, even funny concepts and scenes just dont work because of either timing, or maybe delivery, I honestly dont know, but the fact is right now it just cant be good

Very creepy

Their Treehouse of Horror episodes are the only watchable episodes of the show left.
Yes they're a bit of a disjointed mess but it's better than their regular episodes which are unwatchable.

The best Treehouse of Horror in recent memory wasn't one of the numbered ones, it was S36E07 "Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes" which was a tribute to Ray Bradbury, and it was the most Treehouse of Horror-feeling Treehouse of Horror in a while because it was a return to the roots, back when they pastiched Ray Bradbury's twisted tales.

Nice ass

adding to >>223956227, 'El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)'.

and in Zombie Simpsons land, 'Halloween of Horror'. 2015 so it's firmly Nu Simpsons, but it's a nice little Lisa episode ABOUT Halloween. it's not up there with the classics, but it's sweet.
>>
>>223956169
Halloween of Horror is maybe the best Zombie Simpsons episode, I watch it each year along with the classic Teeehouses
>>
>>223956546
I really enjoyed the Westworld and Death Note ones desu
>>
>>223956160
Modern Tree House of Horror is always just about a parody of a tv show or movie that came out recently.

that would have been fine if they could do Backrooms or Obsession in time. they were in the joke-name credits.

i have no idea what these three were. the toaster story again (except Marge is a rapist), The Fly parody again (except Bart is a dog), and the Groundskeeper Willie Nightmare on Elm Street one again (except it's Patty and Selma and they're witches, also new).

>Not likely.
