Is it worth watching?
If you enjoy shows where the premise is a miserable lesbian mopes around all day drinking wine, then go right ahead.
>>223956408sounds like my marriage...
>>223956390If you like Vince-isms such as Mike taking his car apart for half an ep but this time applied to an entire show with just one main character then yes.
>>223956390It's Vincekino. Teevee hates things that are good.
>second hasn't even started shooting yet..fuck this
It's boring, nothing even happens, and the second season will come out in the 30s
Pluribussy...
what if zosia was from nova scotia
>>223956390Yes
Does this whore show her feet like in BCS?
>>223956390No
A lot of anons complain about how boring and terrible it is but you just know for fucking sure that every single one of them will watch the next season>inb4 no I won'tYeah you will.
>>223956408why the FUCK would any man watch a show about a annoying middle aged lesbian?
it's good, but i hate this "well, that's that season, see you in 3 years" shit so much, how can it take that fucking long
>>223956866wtf? spoiler that shit breakfast time!
>>223956390It's terrific
>>223957077>the one good episode isn't about the main character
I started watching it and the premise is great and I was enjoying it until I realised that the MC is a miserable bint. Credit to the actress, the character is insufferable. She just basically has constant mardy tardy toddler tantrums, has zero curiosity or philosophical explorations of the concept and just fucking whines, annoyingly, all the time.Great idea ruined by a shit main character. No I don't want to watch a whole damn show about a menopausal, miserable, manic depressive lesbian alcoholic. No thanks.
The approach in Pluribus is a distilled Vince style. We need to have long montage sequences of people doing a task while the audience goes "omg what is going oooon" with a simple conclusion-point at the end of the sequence like it's supposed to be poignant or something. This is alright when done with restraint and for emphasis but it has become bravovince's style to do it ALL the time.>long sequence of pudding getting made in a pudding factory before the hive mind took over>everyone is moving like they're actually a part of the hive mind, but they're not! it's just a regular pudding factory>we see the pudding getting made through 85 different amazingly framed shots>the pudding is finally packaged>smash cut to Carol opening her fridge and looking at a pudding>the pudding reminds her of her dead lesbo ex she had zero chemistry with>the phone rings>"Carol would you like a pudding">"NO! leave me alone">the doorbell rings>Carol slowly walks to the front door>she opens the door>there is a pudding on the doorstep>she looks at the pudding>she is deciding whether she wants to toss the pudding>she is tossing the pudding>the tossing of the pudding is meaningful to her, and us, the audience>she regrets tossing the pudding>she dials zero>"bring me another pudding">another long montage sequence of the pudding getting prepared, similar to the first one, but now we know the hive mind is making it specifically for Carol, because the hive mind does not need puddings anymore>the montage sequence is contrasted with the first montage sequence of the pudding being made by real people>smash cut to Carol opening the door again>the pudding is on the doorstep>she tosses it again>she won, she is better than the hive mindetc....

>>223957126I don't mind her being that way. I do mind that this concept requires a group of characters with different attitudes towards how/what to do.Vince kinda went with the rest of the "survivors" being just npcs that were 100x more dull and one note than Carol, even the pervy black dude. The show would be tremendously better if there's let's say a core group of 5 people that can play off each other and have ideas about what to do.Instead it's Carol and some latino guy she meets at the very end, surf dracula style. That guy should've showed up in episode 2-3 and a few survivors should've also developed into a more nuanced permanent primary characters.
No. The first episode is good. But then the other episodes are a whole lot of nothing happening. I would much rather this be a movie and finished in two hours. They're very clearly going to drag this out as long as they can.
>>223957177I haven't seen Leftovers. But wouldn't that make the show like Leftovers?
Literally nothing happens for a solid 5 episodes straight: the show.
>>223957188The leftovers is a meandering drama that uses the premise to just spin personal drama situations with a very thin overarching plot (if you can even call it that). This show clearly has a forward momentum of sorts since the hive mind can be communicated with, has an agenda and there's a way to "deprogram" people that the hive mind doesn't want you to do. So basically the entire show, despite being slow as fuck, has a goal, and that is to disable the hive mind and "save" people.
Sorry guys you need to wait for my pluribussy post for about 5 hours, im away from my pc
>>223957177Yes that would be better and that's what I was half expecting but several episodes in it became clear that, nope, we're stuck with this miserable cow for the duration.
it's not been worth the watch at all
>>223956390lol no
>>223956628Where's the orange?
Pluribussy
So The Backrooms is just metaphor for sinister backroom dealings that The Masons are notorious for, right? And Pluribus is about the herd mentality that comes about from when those dealings are done by people who know how to direct the story? (Just to keep it on topic.)
>>223956390It's good. /tv/ just hates it because of the older lesbian female lead.
>>223957965We live in a David Lynch world.Green gardening gloves should be mandatory wear.
Without memes, I would genuinely say it's not worth watching right now. It does not end on a conclusive or compelling enough note to where its one season works as a stand-alone piece of content to enjoy, and the second season is years off.
>>223957980This is the impression I get from a certain group of critics here too. They all seem to think they would figure out some amazing strategy for dealing with the pluribus if they were there, when we all know they would probably just struggle to mentally deal with just like Carol does. Most of you would either just fuck the plurbs or mope around eating chocolate and doing drugs until you fell into depression
I might cry when he inevitably gets plurbed.
I had completely forgotten about this show. Premise was interesting but all in all It was kinda average. Considering the first season ended almost a year ago, how often do you remember seeing threads about it? Not even the hardcore Breaking Bad fans discuss it.
>>223958021I would at least ask some more compelling questions. Like, come the fuck on, you have the entirety of human knowledge at your finger-tip, and you don't ask the most basic magic eight ball shit? "Did we ever find any aliens besides the plurbs?" "Any substantial proof that god exists?" "In fact, just give me an itemized list of what conspiracies were actually true."
>>223958052To be fair, it's quite possible Carol did ask those kinds of questions, it just wasn't relevant to the main plot so it wasn't on screen. She spends weeks or months pretending to be essentially married to a plurb
>>223958052What use would any of that beYou're thinking like a chud
>>223956390No.
>>223957153your whole made up sequence is KINO and I'm tired of pretending it's notVince has set up the stage and is playing with the characters.
>>223958097What use would anything be after the plurbing? All you can do is live up life, or try and fight against it. If you're not gonna fight, at least ask the interesting questions.
>>223958052I was hoping that some of these questions would be asked when they met the other guys. But nobody asked any of that. It's like the entire writers room said hmmm what would be the interesting questions and let's not include that at all!
Interesting premiseNothing ever happens
>>223956390the way the "story" is told reminds of bad anime that sell themselves purely on a interesting premise but then do literally nothing with it and every second episode is just filler
>>223957965>political hack ramblingssure why not buddy
>>223956390No. Wait for another season or two to see if they're actually going anywhere interesting with the show. Very little actually happens and nothing substantial is revealed in the first season.
>>223958444What would constitute "Something happening" for you
Does she seriously never show her feet in this, even though it was she was known for on BCS?
Breaking bad season 1, slowBCS season 1 and 2, slowWill pluribus have 3 slow seasons?
>>223956390It's a show for women like all modern tv shows
>>223956390Nah, it seems like it's one of those mystery box shows that wait for reddit theories to write their show for them. It's a very interesting premise and has great style, but nothing happens after the 1st episode.
>>223956390respect your time and skip this shit
>>223956390no, its bullshit. waste of time. protag is a moron punchable dike.
>>223956390Haven't seen it but I bet it's chock full of those obnoxious segments from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul where someone is performing some mundane activity that doesn't seem to connect to anything and it goes on just long enough to become boring before it is suddenly revealed how it is related to the plot because the creator is a one trick pony.
>>223956390I only watched the first episode when it came out. It was slop. A huge disappointment. I loved Breaking Bad, but this was nothing like that.
>>223956438would i like this if i liked breaking bad but didnt bcs?
>>223959078No, but it's ok to be retarded
>>223956390nothing really happens much until near the end of the season when huell shows up, but i still liked it
>>223956390>unfinished mystery box show about angry lesbiansno, its a show for biggest leftist lunatics only
>>223956390It's like Bravoince said "I've made to many man centered shows, I need to make a female one now."And it wokeflops. (Not sure what he expected...)
Only adhd plagued retards and culture war faggots think its bad
>>223959965It's just not that good brosorry
>>223956390No,its a good premise but goes nowhere fast with it.
>>223956408Wow she’s just like me
>>223960030You're a tranny though, you need to be a real woman to be a lesbian and you will never be a real woman.
>>223959965It's that bad, uh?
>>223959946wouldnt mind a show staring a womanbut why they made an angry, selfish, screaming and bitchy ugly dyke?to top it of its not some hot lesbian, nope, its past middle age woman
>>223960056the reason he says adhd is since its 10x slower than filler episodes in breaking bad, its 2 episodes of script streached over a full season, so literally 30 minutes of the show every episodes you watch footage of forests, cities, cooking, showering, and car rides to pad for run timethe contrarians defending it are just trolling, its by far the worst paces show you can watch, maybe ever created
>>223960106Because that sets her character up as being more isolated and independent mentally from most people and then that can be contrasted against the plurb people after the plurbening.Even though she is an angry dyke and used to dislike most people beforehand, she still feels completely alone in the post plurbening world
>>223956390a simple idea that after you hear it in a single sentence gets stretched into a nothingburger of a show
Yeah it's worth watching. it's the new Breaking bad, in fact.
>>223957077How different would the show be if this guy was the main character?
>>223957167CAROL, WOULD YOU LIKE SOME PUDDING?CAROL, WOULD YOU LIKE SOME PUDDING-SUH?
>>223959078>I liked the bad show but didn't like the good oneFag
>>223956390Pluribussy
It's very well made. It has its share of well worn Vince-isms, but it's the only kino show going really. With the possible exception of The Agency.
>>223956390Show is designed to indoctrinate people in having their brains grinded out by sheer tedium and have them trick themselves into thinking "Surely this is kino, right? All those long sequences are saying something deeper". Ask them what the show has to say about anything or what that "deeper thing" actually is and they just have to defer to "You didn't get it". It's almost cultlike in a way.
i actually like the premise enough to sit through the filler. scenes like the niggers poker game were unnecessary and literally didnt add shit to the story but its a bit misleading to say MOST is filler. lore was added to each episode, just not at the 'rate' you'd typically expect from any sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, suspence, etc genre. it is pretty heavy on the whiney annoying dike archetype though.
>>223956390It's dogshit. 0/10 writing, nothing makes sense to the point suspension of disbelief is only possible for the clinically retarded. Not to mention the same nuAge pushing of dykes and shitskins as usual.
>>223956390no. there's way too much time spent on nothing happening, its like they had 4 episodes of material written and stretched it out to a whole season. and it won't pay off for another 2 years till we get the next season, so who gives a fuck
>>223959040it is very pretentious everytime it happens and it borderline happens in every single episode as intro lol
>>223956390only first episode the other episodes are mainly MC in an airbnb house
>>223956390I enjoyed it. It probably isn't enjoyable if you have a short attention span.
>>223956390>Is it worth watching?Yes, it's a good show but unfortunately, it'll be 100 years before S02 comes out.
Basically the tv show equivalent of pic related.
>>223957126>has zero curiosity or philosophical explorations of the concept and just fucking whines, annoyingly, all the timeThat really annoyed me combined with the fact that she was such a miserable person before the plurbening. The world pisses her off so much yet she is so dead set on trying to return it to where it was. She can't get over the fact that she got sent to a pray-the-gay-away camp 30 fuckin years ago and has impostor syndrome from not being able to write lesbian fiction instead of getting a real job
>>223956390what the kim doin?
>>223956390>woman posterNo.
I watch it for she
I don't see how long it can go on given that it's already treading water.>Carol learns day 1 that the plurbs are incapable of caring about one person over another>is somehow surprised at the end of the season that a plurb doesn't care about her over another.
>>223956390It's pure kino. Best new show in the last couple of years.
>>223956390maybe
>>223956866Are you typing out the spoiler tags?
>>223963437Why is she so smug?
>>223963955She has all the knowledge and experiences of desperate and lonely people worldwide. She knows that Carol won't be able to hold out against the hive mind and that it's just a matter of time before she gives in to the body the hive specifically chose to seduce her.Remember that Carol is a borderline alcoholic womanchild whose gf always took care of her. Now she is totally alone in the world and she is being given a human version of her waifu who wants ONLY to take care of her.
Watch the first couple episodes and write your own show instead.
>>223956390It's good but not much happens and you have to wait years for season two. Honestly won't recommend it till its over cause of the breaks.
haha LOL
>>223956390>>223956408A shrill lesbian just yells at people for until the finale where she decides to nuke them all.
>>223956415that's sad
>>223957126If you hadn’t noticed, all the people who resist the hivemind are basically assholes. You can be mad and dislike the protagonist but the fact that she’s a misanthropic shut-in is totally appropriate given the themes of the show, someone nice or agreeable would have inevitably submitted.
>>223965938Right, because 5 people in the world were assholes and not in fact 99% of the population.
It was mostly very good. Vince's signatures are all over it, particularly the methodical pacing, which is 75% to the show's benefit. That said, episodes 3, 5, and 6, especially 5, were a little too slow, genuinely >nothing happens: the show territory. Better Call Saul was the perfect balance of deliberate pacing and payoffs; so far, this show has gone too far with slowness but only a little. The concept is great, and has so much as of now unfulfilled potential.Episodes 2, 4, 7, and 9 were fantastic, especially episode 2 where the survivors were all in the plane. That episode was genuinely riveting.
