>admit you liked something you've never even heard of
No.

I liked the part where she took it in the ass.

Classic female comedy:
>’does my bum look big in this?’

Modern, innovative, female comedy:
>’does my bum look big with this in it?’

Why are they like this?

Get to fuck.

It's pretty funny, but some moments makes me cringe, there is a scene where Fleabag's hook up black guy shows up at her appartment and she tells him he was the best sex she ever had and then moments later her innocent short priest guy shows up to confess his feelings.
That is some serious cuck shit.

bongslop

i wanted to. kept an open mind etc.

it's just How Not to Live Your Life, which was already a pretty naff sitcom. i dunno what made Fleabag so 'acclaimed'.

if you want a good girl sitcom, watch Derry Girls.

No, the priest is already there. And it shows that her love for the priest is more important to her than a great fuck, which proves she has grown as a person.

Girls exist

holy fuck, I forgot about HNTLYL lol. I was way too young to have been watching that
>>

makes sense though. you couldn't have his degree of interest in her without you were a giant cuck

Fleabag series 2 was unironically good. Made the talking to the camera gimmick an actual part of the story and played with it in quite entertaining ways; the story was about the woman character actually taking accountability, which is always based to see; the story with the priest wasn't simply used as muh Christ bad, unlike other pieces of media that portray a similar dynamic; and at the end you get the sense the world is basically over for Fleabag and she can no longer escape the consequences of her bad life.
Season 1 on the otherhand was genuinely terrible and insufferable. It is strange how they are a part of the same show in a way. Fleabag series 1 is incredibly immature in its themes and how it handles them; whereas series 2 is pretty well written.
It will be a strange cultural artefact of the 2010s, but it seems all but forgotten now.
If you want to watch something terrible for cringe viewing pleasure, I recommend you watch Crashing, also written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, before Fleabag. It was a painful watch.

I'm not interested in watching female-led shows, but does it deserve the praise it gets from critics?
