>See I didn't kill him!
> I just made him paraplegicwith a vertebrate lodged 1 mm from the great aorta so if he ever moves he'll bleed out in minutes. Oh also I left him blind, deaf and mute. But I didn't kill him ;-) !
>Now that I look back guess I did that to 90% to the henchmen who was coerced to take a high risk, low income job due to the Joker threatening to murder their families. And now since I didn't killed them I denied their families to at least collect life insurance, grieve their beloved and move on, I now instead force their families to be caretakers of empty husks for the rest of their lives, sending them to financial ruin for generations.
The more you think about it the more retarded it gets.

Gotham City was so corrupt that Batman not ever killing probably resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians. And that's just from Batman not killing regular humans. By not killing metahumans Batman is responsible for the deaths of millions.

>this juvenile cartoon looks really stupid when you apply realism to it
gee, who woulda thunk it

Gotham was built over a gateway to hell or something so nothing Batman did would have mattered anyway.

The rule was carried over to the movies sans Batman v Superman

the earliest Batman comics had a bunch of killing, and the cops never seemed to care.

a lot of it was framed in a way like
>The Bat-Man leaps at the crook...knocking him out the tenth-storey window!
>"A fitting end, for such a villain!"

even pre-Comics Code, they probably didn't want him killing all the time, but it's shitty writing. objectively murder or at least manslaughter, and it just goes to the next panel, zero consequences or remorse.

DC had already fixed this inconsistency by explaining that Batman that kills is a "Earth-2 Batman" from separate reality/continuity.

well then i'd much rather be reading those comics, with that character, in that setting.

I personally like the middle approach, where Batman doesn't kill criminals, but also isn't devasted, if some of them get shot by the police or get a death sentence

This is the endpoint of all Kantian ethics.
That fucking autistic faggot

That’s what was so silly about the Arkham games.
>I electrocuted a thug, reducing him to only the bare minimum definition of life
>He will be a burden to the Gotham taxpayer until he dies of bedsores in 3 years
>But I’m the hero of the story
>>
If you want to be realistic about it, there's no way Batman could be sure he's not killing people. He doesn't know the medical history of every thug he fights, maybe some guy has a heart condition and gets scared into a heart attack, or he breaks some guy's pacemaker, or gives some guy a concussion without knowing he already had one just minutes earlier, he can't possibly be sure every guy he knocks out is landing on the ground safely, etc. Considering the sheer volume of people he regularly beats the crap out of, some would be definitely be dying. But stories about superheroes don't need to be that realistic.

>I denied their families to at least collect life insurance,
I'm pretty sure you can't collect life insurance for intentionally committing a crime and getting killed by Batman while doing said crime. It's why those gun insurance laws that commies propose are retarded because no insurance company will insure deliberate criminal acts. San Jose only got around that by making their law literally impossible to enforce because the statute specifically prevents cops from asking to see proof of insurance and if you did somehow get charged it's a $25 fine or something ridiculously low in the hopes that someone would just pay it and not try to fight it in court
Oh and the Frank Miller Dark Knight books already meme on this with Batman having tons of guns on the batmobile and then just going
>rubber bullets
or him deciding to specifically cripple a guy for life
