>>223965994They have BEEN doing that for years. The books are completely disordered, always telling kids to read Magician first, the weakest book intended as a “ah-ha”prequel. I’ve spoken to several young adults that tried reading the series as kids but couldn’t get past Magician. The Disney efforts were tainted as well. Having vehement atheist and Christian-hater Simon Pegg voice Reepicheep, the embodiment of faith, was a direct thumb in the eye. The only decent adaptation was the BBC series, which was at least charming in its practical effects. It’s a shame they ended, or rather chickened out, without finishing the series. The “Calormans” were too on the nose Muslims, and they weren’t going to touch a Biblical Revelation like The Last Battle.
