one of the biggest issues is aside from skin/fur/feathers is that we could be missing pieces from every dinosaur due to missing bones, brittle bones that were too small and stuff like cartilage(like our ears for example)
what if all Trex are incomplete, them with those stub arms seems retarded.

its like if aliens came earth after our extinction and them trying to figure out how we looked like alive, they may find many of our skeletons due to us burying them but would they get our skin right, would they figure out our ears and where hair grew on our bodies?

>what if all Trex are incomplete, them with those stub arms seems retarded.

we have like 30 specimens of T-Rex alone, it's a very heavily studied species for obvious reasons. Some of those specimens are very complete, like entombed-in-sediment-with-no-missing-bones complete. The stub arms are very real, them being small is what allowed the rexes to have huge heads with huge teeth.

again you dont know that, neither do scientists
there could be missing pieces that werent bone or that could have survived fossilization to truely know proper shape/look. saying short arms were so the head could be that size means shit.

you can take current fish today, if the skeleton of a fish got fossilized how would a future lifeform beable to determine its look or even abilitys, for example a puffer fish

we could be missing so much from dino looks
>>
>>223973985
That’s not true, color is one of the few things we’ll truly never know. The only reason the appearance of dinosaurs is under such controversy is because it’s a political topic, evil trannies and those types don’t like depicting dinosaurs as cool because that’s too moralizing to children, so they make up fantasy bullshit where dinosaurs were gay and weak, etc. it’s demented mental illness

>Why is this movie so magical compared to all the sequels?
It's just about perfectly structured. It has pay offs for all the set ups. It's got character arcs that the characters in the books don't even have. It's got heart. Everything wraps up neatly with a nice little bow. Hits all the beats and has a rhythm that's not too fast not too slow. It pioneered CGI, but it didn't overuse it. Decades later it still fills me with the same wonder and magic I felt when I was a little kid. Even though I've seen it a million times before. It was one of the last great movies.

Scientists can just change their findings every couple years without being called out for being inconsistent.

There are just too many missing links. Where are the animals that are halfway between the small aquatic creatures that supposedly came onto land and huge dinosaurs? How about between tall apes and humans?

The idea of fossilization just seems so fake too. Why aren't their fossilized chicken bones in landfill and public space?

I'll stick with the Genesis story, thanks.

We can't know anything for sure, we can only try to deduce as best we can from what we have. And what we have is a fuck ton of fossils from this particular species. Combined with some basic anatomical common sense, we're certain they had those stubby arms. It's neither rocket science or wild speculation. There'll always be a margin of error but it's so microscopic with regard to this particular case that you choosing it to make a stand reveals you to be a particularly low IQ individual.

If you actually knew shit about paleontology, you would understand that fossilized bone has very subtle yet distinct qualities that let a specialist easily discern if the bone held muscle, cartilage, veins, organs or just skin.

not all bone is the same, animals evolve bodies to be economical and specialized. their bodies exist for a specific purpose and for a reason. the bones reflect this.
a paleontologist could get a pretty good picture about the physique and body composition of an animal without ever having seen it. the idea that they just "wing it" is retarded, because you can do the same thing with living animals and cross reference if your ideas are correct. the same mechanisms that make hippos have distinct bone and facial features were also at work during the dinosaur age, you apply the research from living animals to reconstruct extinct ones.
>>

i'm not, most species of birbs like to be petted on head/neck (if they like you that is); it's fairly obvious since they do it to each other... also most birb species are also monogamous, as opposed to synapsids

It's just so believable. The production and art design contributed a LOT to it. From the click clacks of the keyboards, the way the embryo storage hisses, the CRT monitors... Everything felt tactile, like you could touch it, and that of course extends to the dinosaurs. The way I see it from what I've read from paleontologists and whatnot. I'm not a paleontologist myself. But general "rules of thumb" I've noticed with theropod dinosaurs are
>height = half their length
>feathered = ~12ft long or less
>anything approaching our current megafauna(theropod and saurischia) would be "hairless"/"featherless" because they're warm blooded and insulating feathers/fur would fuck them over.
Therefore
>any dinosaur(typically theropod) under ~12ft in length would have feather/protofeathers
>anything larger faces overheating and a very short species life
But then we find bullshit like Therizinosaurus, who defy all known lehman rules about dinosaurs.
