Yeah. I think both are fine for what they are. The kdrama is more serious in tone, more emotional and it deviates a lot from the original. The jdrama felt lighter and the FL was more of a bold, sexy type character.
Idk how netflix labeling works but AFAIK SBS hasn't planned for more than 1 season. Though ratings are good so they'll probably try, knowing them.

The scenarios in the first 2 eps I believe came from the jdrama (I remember the first case with the allergy for sure), though they didn't play out in the exact same way. I do. But most of the free stuff is trash. I'm also lazy and thinking about if it's worth the time investment when subtitles exists and I'll never get a korean girlfriend anyway.
Hell, I could just as well learn chinese, tagalog, vietnamese or any other asian language which can cure my yellow fever. Not that I will get a girlfriend in any of those languages.

Is everyone else also burnt out and/or depressed or something? Especially for the past month or so, maybe two (it wasn't this bad in August though), there's been a serious drop off imo in the frequency of engaged discussions and references to a wide range of things, but I still sense that there's a good handful of people here. It just feels like we're all (or maybe I'm projecting) often mostly posting filler about actresses or whatever else, things we're comfortable with, or complaints, or metaposts (this one included).

I know everything sucks right now and we're going through a bit of an industrial revolution affecting everything in our lives, including dramas, and simultaneously it feels like a total nothingburger (as much as I hate the term); lots has changed in my industry, AI has changed my meaning of life and I unfortunately haven't found a new path yet, I see it in dramas, the Internet is permanently ruined, etc, but it's also very overhyped, humans remain everywhere, AGI is absolutely not coming of in our lifetimes, and while the meaning of my job has changed, my employability hasn't. I'm struggling to remember that. It's really easy for me to get into a cynical mindset and see everything negatively. I see the annoying overt AI song at the start of Can This Love Be Translated and write it off as slop, despite the fact that there's still loads of obvious human effort, real actors, etc. Rationally, I know TV will never be like film and there are much more strict deadlines and everything will always have to have some profit, but people still exist that had hopes and dreams, and even if they don't have complete control over these bits of media, they still have an influence. It's not all completely over.

I don't know, sorry, severely intoxicated blogpost. But I thought I might not be the only one.

I was also thinking, it'd be nice to try to find some ways to get more engagement in kdg. Maybe we could start something together in a group watch. Idk

Definitely slower lately. I think part of it is that there's probably not a huge overlap in what people are watching right now. September was kinda sparse. This month had loads of things but I think everyone's kinda spread out among them. I've been able to have some chats about all 3 currently airing dramas I'm watching but I don't get the feeling that there's any one particular title many are gravitating to atm.
