What's your favorite theory about what happened at the end>There is no witch, Mike and Josh kill Heather in the woods>The witch possesses Josh
The lore is cool i think the ending was fine. The idea the film was dug out of the basement by archeological students and forensic dating looked as if they had been buried for decades prior to the 90's is spoopy
>>224034925The second one. The first one makes no logical sense.
>>224035028The house had also already been demolished. Basically the VVitch sucked them into a time/space portal and either her or Rustin Parr killed them in the past
>>224035039>The first one makes no logical sense.I think it does>Personally, I think someone's fucking with your head>But nobody knows we're out here>Haven't you ever seen DeliveranceWhen Heather and Josh have this exchange he singles her out and says whoever it is is fucking with her.
>>224035028Curse of the Blair Witch is spookier than the main movie in some ways. It’s a great companion piece.
>>224035064But it doesn’t explain all the creepy stuff happening at night unless Mike and Josh have multiple unseen accomplices. The murder theory quickly becomes stupid.
>>224035057That is so cool to me. Like the witch melded with the forest and anything/one that happened upon it, turning it into her metaphysical domain. Shame the 2015 one was trash but at the time i was just happy they attempted to make a new one simply for the haloween aspect. Watching the original and listening to the curated soundtracks has been a haloween tradition for me since I was a teenager
>>224035081>multiple unseen accomplices.
>>224034925She was so hot omfg.
>>224035130Who apparently have ninja-like stealth abilities? Like I said, the murder theory quickly becomes stupid.
The witch can warp and change the woods to her will, Josh was dead when he disappeared, Josh's voice was just the witch tormenting them, the witch can't be filmed so when Heather sees Mike in the corner she sees the witch that comes straight to her and kills her.
>>224035068Need to rewatch it. I remember liking it as a kid
>>224035057Yeah, this.
>>224034925
>>224035181What’s interesting about it is that the original concept for the movie was to have it be a mockumentary that would cut to the found footage throughout. Once the directors reviewed all the footage Heather, Mike and Josh had captured out in the woods, they realized it would be better if the main movie was just the found footage and the rest of the mockumentary material was repurposed into CotBW.
>>224034925It was her
>>224034925The witch took their souls and trapped them in these stick figures.
>>224035302I like this idea. imo this part of the movie is when they had fully crossed over into the other realm:https://youtu.be/PtYT2kX8IKs?si=yfVv3U-YAZCZTkdV
>>224034925i don't have theories. i have facts.
>>224035302>>224035342Loved the stick figure aspect. I was obsessed with the idea when i first watched it. The ambiguity is cool. Are they mementos of victims? Totems/voodoo dolls? All that and more? But yeah i think you are right. Essentially are golems. maybe where the kid ghosts stay when not in use. Liked the stick trap element in true detective as well.
I remember watching this movie when it came out. I was scared shitless by the basement scene.
>>224034925It's a "you had to be there" kinda movie I guess because it does not appeal to me in the slightest
>>224035466Sort of true, because it’s tied into the internet from that time period as well. I went to the official website so many times back then. The hype surrounding the movie was cool to be a part of.
I saw this when it came out. I decided to see it a second time in the theater and back in those days you would approach a girl and ask her to go to a movie with you and sometimes she might say yes. So, I did that but I also decided to take a piece of flannel cloth and wrap it up with a bundle of sticks and hide it in the back of my truck. I moved it to the passenger's seat without her noticing before we went into the movie. So when we got back to the car afterward, I went around to open the door for her, because that's the polite thing to do, and when she saw the bundle of sticks she let out a scream like a banshee and wouldn't get into the truck until I moved it. I did a really good job on it too, with a gross bag of what looked like bloody teeth wrapped up in the center of it. So I was a little disappointed that she was too scared to open it. I loved that girl.
>>224035489Based
>>224035466Maybe you just don't like it. I was too young to actually get the hype around the movie and I still like it.
>>224035525To this day it still feels the most real out of any found footage movie I’ve seen. One of the most underrated elements of BWP is that they actually give a somewhat plausible explanation for how the audience is seeing this footage in the first place. So many modern FF movies don’t bother with that sort of detail, including Blair Witch 2016. Who recovered all the footage?
>>224035466>current trend is NPCs giving "Blair Witch is overrated/crap" opinionsWhat a free and independent thinker you are anon
>>224035466There's so much shitty POV video content out there now with shitty acting, it's hard to be convinced by genuine attempts
Also the cult aspect makes sense to me with curse of the blair witch in the sense that people are being controlled like rustin parr to commit the physical violence on people
>>224035552>One of the most underrated elements of BWP is that they actually give a somewhat plausible explanation for how the audience is seeing this footage in the first place. This matters more than people realizethink of classics like Dracula which is written as a series of letters and diariesOr Tolkien pretending he's translating an old foreign language book from Middle Earth
>>224035558wow sorry for having an opinion that at least other person also has
>>224034925Anyone who still thinks they killed her is dumb as bricks and needs to be euthanized and also his offspring
>>224035133I miss when girls wore regular kinda ugly clothes with no makeup
Make sure you also check out the Burkitsville seven and Shadow of the Blair Witch, which tries to explain that Blair witch 2 is based on real events.
>>224035718Just shows they didn't actually watch the flick. They are running around a house that burned down 50 years prior at the end.
>>224034925ok but why would josh kill her? what alibi?
