>>
only backrooms was made by a zoomer you tribalist tard
>>
>>224078459
The monster in the backrooms was resentment and self loathing. The pirate monster fed on Clarkes blaming of others for his problems
>>
>>224078459
thats not what the backrooms is about. didnt watch the rest
>>
>>224078459
It's not entitlement dude, they fucking owe me
>>
Buddy mogs Backrooms.
>>
>>224078459
The original Candyman was also about racism
>>
>>224078525

boomer horror:
>the monster is... a shark!
>the monster is ... the catholic church!!
>the monster is ... a goo alien!
>the monster is ... a robot from the future!
fuck you unc, you live in a golden age of horror movies and dont even realize it. future classics being released every year
>>
>>224078459
The Substance is not about the male gaze. It's about self-loathing. I can't believe I need to explain this since it's hammered over our heads to such an insane degree. If it's about the male gaze it's only to the degree it's a catalyst for Elizabeth's self-loathing. Her self literally splits into two people and they murderously hate each other and this is the majority of the narrative. I don't know how it could be about self-loathing MORE. But you whiny faggots see a woman in a movie and screech about feminism. You're just retarded.

On a side note, Obsession was clearly just a straightforward Monkey's Paw movie but we were retroactively gaslighted by social media, and the director himself caved to this, so now it's about how evil Bear is, the literal demon magic did nothing wrong no no no it was all BEAR's fault!
>>
>>224078523
No. Mostly just style.

Wrong, incel. Check your media literacy
>>
>>224078637
Just gonna post this

Whoever made this OG post either didn’t actually watch the movies, or they’re retarded and didn’t understand them
>>
https://youtu.be/KPw4U_IhWV4
Did they really make movies in the 1950s where the monster was Giant Ants, or Frankenstein, or some creature who lives in a lagoon?
>>
Are White men really the root of all evil in this world?
>>
>>224078459
How come no one ever complained about all slasher films being feminist media where some useless woman somehow always ends up being the one to survive?
>>
>>224078459
Just have the infographic say, 'ypippo,' and keep it moving.
>>
>>224078572
I remember when they were interviewing the cast a crew and the black bitch actress was saying some dumb shit like this, while the crew members were talking about how their equipment trucks were getting robbed by the locals.

Yes. Don't worry though, we are getting rid of them fast. Then the real party begins.

>>224078667
When literacy's goal is a centralized, universal interpretation of a work, a declaration of art being objective, the solution is to reject the interpretation and substitute your own
>>
>>224078459
Backrooms isnt so much about childhood trauma as it is about how pointless it is to revisit a traumatic or sad episode of your life over and over, that and that therapy wont do shit for you if it becomes self indulgent
>>
new-old strategy
1. Modern film is incredibly boring and forgettable
2. But people still need to talk about it to generate long-term buzz
3. film makers realized they could make absolute trash as long as they had some inflammatory conversation starter as the overarching message/theme
3a. It's why "media literacy" suddenly got pushed so hard
You can think about this by seeing whether people are talking about the actual content of the film more, or its "message" / metaphor.

>>
>>224078459
But a better movie all of these slop. The monster in that is a Rape unicorn.
>>
>>224078459
This is why I liked Weapons. Horror played straight and sincere, while also being funny and entertaining.
>>
>>224078594
>>the monster is ... the catholic church!!
>>the monster is ... a goo alien!
>>the monster is ... a robot from the future!
Sounds fun desu
>>
>>224079001
That's still not it. He never faced the fact that he should have a god damn spine, and set forth his expectations in the relationship more clearly. He enjoyed playing the victim and enjoyed his sorrowness. How he acted in his marriage and after is who he is. The monsterous self in the backrooms is the physical representation of the "bad guy" he feels like he is being labeled as but it really is just him and he is resigned to spend his time alone with this form of his self destructive self. Therapy cant magically make him a better person it would be to much a denial of self. If only he could find the kindness and the courage to reject this lonely existence and monstrosity of self and leave the backrooms (distorted remembrance) he could start to take accountability for his wants and actions in a way that gives him autonomy while also showing love and compassion for others (and himself).
>>
>>224078459
Therapy
>>
You can tell how Kane Parsons grew up on anime, because his character is a caricature who wears his character weaknesses on their sleeves. The intro scene of him throwing a tantrum in the therapy section is very contrived, and also way too early. It's like if in episode 1 of Breaking Bad, Walt just went full "Who do you think you kids are talking to?" to his chemistry students.

The two on the left are garbage movies, what about the two on the right?
>>
>>224079661
come and take it, tranny
>>
>>224079301
If he could just magically know what his wife wants, even when she doesn't, and then provide that for her, everything would be fine.
>>224079351
That's because the movie isn't really about anything. It's just The Backrooms. The point of the movie is The Backrooms. The character development is actually just the window dressing. The movie flips the convention. Rather than the setting providing an opportunity for the characters to tell a story, the characters only exist to provide an opportunity to depict the setting.

This would've been the shittiest B movie decades ago, but now it's popular because everything is shit and The Backrooms is referential to the autistic internet culture that the viewers are coming from in the first place.

>childhood trauma
wasnt that only for the therapist?
Clark was just terminally based
>>
>>224079227
Weapons is literally about gun control.

It literally had a scene where a character dreams about a gun in the sky.
>>
>>224078594
Horror is supposed to be scary and those things are scary. Zoomer horror movies aren't scary, they're just retarded.
>>
>>224080521
It’s about alcoholism obviously. The gun was just based on a dream Zach had that he thought would make a cool visual which has no bearing on the movie except to get Brolin’s character to realize the kids have been weaponized like weapons which ties perfectly into alcoholism.
>>
>>224078637
No, patriarchy is definitely part of it. Feminists hav this fantasy that if only these darn men didn't exist women would then be liberated and feel at home in their bodies and not have to put on makeup or shave their legs.
>>
>>224080521
>>224079661
damn, was treavor the only WKUK member who wasn't a tranny?
>>
How was the backrooms about childhood trauma? It was about an architect who did nothing wrong and EVERY woman around him was a naysaying piece of shit.
>>
>>224078459
you have to be a zoomer to think any of that shit is new in horror movies
>>
>>224078572
Actually it was about how white women are the only ones who can save black babbies.
>>
>>224078836
This
>>
>>224078836
That's a lot of words for "I'm an incel who hates women"
