I know it may be somewhat controversial, since half of the board is baiting for (you)s by posting female characters who can't act out of a wet bag to save their lives but have done naked scenes, and the other half is full of indian bots farming for interaction for the product they are paid to promote, but have you watched any good movies lately? Yesterday I watched Alice in Wonderland (1951) that a local cinema played, a week ago I rewatched Sicario and in the next couple days I'll watch either Mulholland Drive or Memories of Murder. I'd be curious to see what the people of this board watch, if there are people left here at all.
>>224092378Yesterday I watched Have An Abortion, White Bitch (2005). Incredibly good.
>>224092378onibaba, free on youtubeeasily one the top10 best movies ive ever seen
>>224092378Some recent ones I've enjoyed>Dogtooth (2009)>The Congress (2013)>Brewster's Millions (1985)>Walker>
>>224092378These two blew me away. Also rewatched Fincher's The Killer, which is alright, and gave the evergolden Furiosa another spin.
>>224092378I saw these in the last two weeks: Ace in the Hole (1951), Targets (1968), The Exorcist (1973), Paper Moon (1973)all were pretty good. Ace in the Hole was my favorite of the bunch. it's a very cynical film about media manipulation and how greed consumes everyone. based off a real event where some guy got trapped in a mine and it became a media circus in 1925.
>>224092378battleship potemkin, it was an alright silent movie
>>224092378YesIt was Hughkino
>>224092378I watched The Iron Claw a few weeks ago and it's really been sticking with me
Do we count anime? If so, pic rel was quite the treat.
Yesterday I watched 4 John wick movies
>>224094083>Do we count anime?Definitely.
>>224092378A few days ago I watched the new Sense and Sensibility along with my mom. Good, but the Emma Thompson's one is easily still the better one. I appreciated that this new version was gloomier and had a better cinematography so it had that going for it, but the difference in acting talent was almost embarrassing. The new main actress were ok for most of the time, not great nor terrible, while the male actors were dull and forgettable. They also snuck in a ugly FtM tranny nepobaby. The day before that I watched a documentary about a famous Italian comedy trio (the Gialappa's Band) along with some friends. I liked it a lot, it had a good balance of memberberry scenes, other comedians who became famous thanks to them "celebrating" them, interesting behind the scenes facts and even some kind of emotional moments.
>>224094065A merely okay watch.
I saw Wicker 's penis the movie. I think it's important to watch stuff way out of my wheelhouse every now and then.It has black people if that's enough to dissuade you. Otherwise its a woman wish fulfillment movie about a big dumb autistic man who does everything for you WONT actually fix your own issues.Had a focus on couple dynamics and commoditying your relationship. Also they fucked A LOT on screen
An actual on-topic thread?
Just watched Pan's Labyrinth for the first time (caught my kinoplex's last showing of the re-release). Don't know how I missed it up to now. Very striking and haunting film.
