How did this bug inhabit the man's skin? Canonically he is just wearing the skin but obviously he still have his bones, teeth, eyes, etc. so is there a way the bugs can take over the body and shrink their own body down? Take over the vocal chords and brain? Because when he rips the skin off, he doesn't speak anymore, just roars. My personal theory is he actually just drinks the organs and can morph into the smallest crevices of the body. But even so that doesnt make sense because it would have taken him a lot longer to stretch his own body out, leading to the agents to kill him faster.
Bump
>>224094896I liked it when he revealed himself to be a 12 foot cockroach and his first act was to throw a haymaker into will smith's face.
>>224094896The novelization called it "folding into n-space" or something like that. Just some biological trick the bug race can do to "fit in"
cockroaches are mostly empty space and they can squeeze through cracks and tiny gaps. Big cockroach squeezes into human proportions.
>>224094896this movie was propaganda for the sugar water industry
>>224097113SUGAR WATER...NOW
The bug doesn’t have solid bones so it can (with effort) squeeze it’s body inside Edgar.
>>224097346Still doesn't make sense. Hes like 50 feet tall. He could swallow a whole person. Just doesn't make sense
>>224094896He wasn’t a cockroach he was an alien roly poly. He rolled up into a ball inside the Edgar suit but it is interesting that he still has teeth meaning he has a skull.
>>224094896He is an alien and its physiology is likely nothing like what you see on earth. For all we know he can just pack himself into all sorts of shit and use their vocal cords.
>>224097400Did you not notice the ship he came in was also super small for him to fit in? They clearly can just squeeze to a fraction of their total size. It’s just not convenient long term
it's a movie, it doesn't have to make sense
>>224094896you're overthinking it, anon. It's just silly alient logic, like the squid lady giving birth in the car or the pawn shop alien regenerating his head
It kinda went over my head as a kid, but as an adult I see that D'Onofrio gave a fucking incredible performance in this role. Not easy shine that brightly in a dumb comedy.
>>224097519>not convenient long termHow long do you think it took for him to get to Earth? Ok, maybe the ship has ftl travel
Oh no the silly family comedy movie about a giant alien cockroach wearing a redneck’s skin as a costume isn’t realistic
>>224097996But thats the thing! You can't see his eyes here but he haves them and bone structure, later
>>224098180He’s also taken all the clothes off in one go without damaging them somehow boy I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder
>>224098263He didin't. See the comment before yours- his clothes are still on
I would be willing to bet that there was some kind of technobabble explanation about the bug shapeshifting in earlier drafts that got cut because it added nothing to the movie.
>>224097996Americans like to overanalyse everything for some reason.
>>224097400He compresses into a ball like samus
>>224099289same
I'LL PUT MY HANDSON.. MY HEAD..LIKE THIS?
>>224097791>D'Onofrio gave a fucking incredible performance in this roleOne of the most underrated actors ever. Watching Pyle in Full Metal Jacket I genuinely forgot I was watching an actor. It's just so fucking real. Perfect performance in The Player as well.
>>224097880>How long do you think it took for him to get to Earthat least 3 weeks
>>224099271anglosharts have a lot of mental issues. i think a lot of it is because the english language is the world language and thus it has been subjected to the most fuckery. english is like a mental grooming tool.
>>224098180>he haves themOh, I see what the problem is here.
These sorts of questions have a place in something that's trying to be realistic, not so much here though. Comedies have a huge allowance when it comes to "This is happening not because it's logical, but because we wanted it to and thought it would be fun."
>>224099650Good post and good pic. Grant Morrison seems a bit crazy but he's absolutely brilliant.
