I dunno about psychopathy exactly but the morals behind In the Shadow of the Moon seem crazy>mysterious murders targeting random fry cooks, bus drivers, etc in the 80s>protag cop catches the murderer, it's some brown girl and she kills herself>decade later, similar murders happen again>cop eventually gets to the bottom of this. the brown girl is trying to stop a chud uprising in the future and is going through the past killing people>except she's not killing the architects of the chud uprising, she's killing the people who inspired the architects. A visual tell of this is some random fat 50 year old bus driver woman having a book about thomas jefferson>cop realizes all of this and embraces the brown girl, it turns out to be his granddaughter>Chud uprising is prevented and everyone lives happily ever afterIt just seemed weird to me to have a time travel murder story where somehow it's more acceptable to kill random, innocent people rather than the people directly responsible for whatever it is you're trying to stop.
