why don’t characters in movies smoke anymore?
the smoking rate in the us right now is below 10%, lowest ever recorded. real question is: are they portraying the much larger percent of vaping retards? (ps vaping is trash behavior associated with lower income, education and iq, just like smoking)

It's banned by the studios.Back in the 90s and 00s the demand was that characters would always have to cough.

>>224100083Whores Smoking in Cars, Part 22. It got worse reviews than Part 21, but personally, I think it had more whores, and most importantly, more smoking.

>>224098164Producers and networks get shit for portraying smoking in any sort of non negative light these days. If I remember correctly Netflix made Stranger Things cut back on the smoking scenes in its later seasons, and that was supposed to be a period piece. Walt Disney also is never portrayed as a smoker in any documentaries despite being a three pack a day smoker and dying of lung cancer. Most blockbusters are made in America where smoking is seriously frowned upon and is a relatively uncommon habit these days (though it is coming back especially in the hipster/university demographic).
