Now that the dust has settled, who was in the wrong?

Honestly Steven was kind of a dick and should’ve been more up front to Ernie from the get go. Shouldn’t’ve strung him along for that long.
>>224100311they didnt have utensils but they had pepsi?
>>224100301they're both awful, i never understood who I was supposed to care about in this movie
>>224101272It’s like Face Off. You choose the actor you like best or neither of them. It’s really just about seeing two broken people be toxic to each other.
>crazy guy actually does help you get back together with your gf>instead of pretending to be his friend for a while you immediately sperg out on him
Absolute kinohttps://youtu.be/XNc9phYujWY
>>224100452>Shouldn’t’ve strung him alongSo it /tv/ finally coming around to the theory that Chip/Ernie was gay?
>>224101446>You're a very nice guy>But I just don't have any room in my life for a new friendIt's like a break-up or friendzoning, for fuck's sake
>>224101378Yeah but Face/Off is awesome
>>224101446He was just an autistic manic. He didn’t care about sex, he cared about friendship. His flashbacks show he has a very neglected childhood and spent his time in front of the TV to escape. People like that want to relive their childhoods and tend to seek “purity” and “friendship” to extreme degrees and the problem is also compounded by the fact that they’re adults which makes making friends even harder and weirder. He’s basically like Michael Jackson.
>>224101525>He didn’t care about sexHe was pretty stoked about being eskimo bros with Steven after they both fucked the prostitute.
>>224101564Exactly, he wasn’t stoked about the sex, he was stoked about what it would do for their bromance.
>>224101580You're equivocating. He was autistic, but still had other contacts (like the police) and customer/friends. He specifically sperged out on Steven because of unrequited homolust. This dude is clearly gay:>>224101463>>224101485>>224101516
>>224101676That’s your opinion and perspective and that’s fine. My perspective is that he simply seeks friendship to an unhealthy degree because he never has the chance to learn to self regulate due to his stunted social growth. Personally I see the “he’s gay” angle as a cheap cop out and I prefer my viewpoint because it shows a more underrepresented human condition that is very real.
>>224101747Something no one explains is why did Chip/Ernie seek "friendship to an unhealthy degree" specifically with Steven, and not the others he befriended or installed cable for? Despite his autism, everyone except for Steven and Rick fall for his charm and grant him a lot of latitude in their interactions (cops, Medieval Times employees, etc.). It's almost as if he's cool if he doesn't want/expect anything from you, but the moment he wants to buttfuck you, you're a target to be exploited and obsessed over.
>>224101792Because Steven literally said he wants to be his friend. Ernie clearly has off putting vibes that probably makes 90% of people he meets want to stay away. Steven however is naive enough to give Ernie a chance and that kickstarts his entire obsession. It’s the same deal with the helicopter paramedic at the end of the movie who says Ernie is his buddy. Look, you can go with your homolust angle all you want. Just put homolust everywhere why not. Frodo and Sam - gay. Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer - gay. Tom and Jerry - gay. That’s your prerogative. But some of us like to see the world in a little bit of a more nuanced way.
>>224101855>that probably makes 90% of people he meets want to stay away.like the Medieval Times employees, the cops, everyone playing basketball *not* Steven and Rick, his other customer-friends, Steven's family...>Just put homolust everywhere why not.Now you're arguing like a woman. I'm not even remotely implying gay shit in those other things, or ubiquitously. Simply here. You don't get to ignore the narrative, whine like a foid, and then claim you're somehow seeing things in "a more nuanced way". lmao
>>224101980Like I said, be my guest. Make the whole world gay, fagboy. I prefer my world.
The cable guy should’ve acted more professionally.
