Does that technically make Godzilla Minus Zero into the Monster Fucker category?

I don't like the fact they say she's the only one that accepted the Godzilla DNA or whatever, when she specifically didn't and is also dying like the rest (maybe just a bit slower)
>>
>>224153540
It means she is the only one whose body didn't reject Godzilla's DNA, this is talked about in the sense of an organ transplant, anon.

Also, I think he only suppose she is dying (like the other ones did). I don't think there has been any medical confirmation that she actually is.
>>
>>224153561
As far as she knows, she thinks she's dying because she saw that other girl dead in the hospital and is assuming thats her fate too. Mad science grandpa is just assuming she's ok because that's convenient for him to believe.
>>
Okay, but who will Godzilla fight in -3?
I feel like they shot their load early by having him fight his most iconic foe in the second film.

>>224153840
I really thought it's Biollante who was going to be the other monster of the movie, that with the sad Grandpa scientist having lost hi families and looking for live tissues of Godzilla...
>>
>>224153970
Yeah him trying to regrow his wife or daughter would have been a good set up.
>>
I have heard that the title "Minus Zero" was a dead giveaway of who Godzilla was going to fight in the movie. Why is that?

King Ghidorah is referred to as Monster Zero in Invasion of Astro Monster.

I struggling to understand why they didn’t try to kill Godzilla at the end of the film. Did it symbolize post war Japan’s embrace of pacifism or something?
>>
>>224154132
they were relying on the americans to deliver the final blow and the us were like 'nah why would we give up a walking nuke lol' so they had to watch him stumble into the ocean
>>
>>224154132
The yanks were on hand to kill king ghidorah if he survived. Since Godzilla won, they discontinued the attack under the assumption they could steal the godzilla summoning machine for themselves.

>>
File: godzilla minus zero zoom.jpg (3.84 MB, 1600x1600)

What exactly was the yanks' plan?

>assumption 1
they were all along aware of the professor's research and what the device can do
>assumption 2
they were aware of the Godzilla cell mutations in some humans and that Noriko seems to be the only one of them still alive

So they intentionally give the japs a dud of a bomb in the hopes that the japs will then use the professor's device on Noriko to try and lure Godzilla to fight Ghidorah? And the plan was that if this would work they would steal the professor's shit and also kidnap Noriko in order to control Godzilla? But they also agreed to the plan where they would help kill the surviving monster after the fight. Now of course they could have just lied about that. But then at the end they actually opened fire on Godzilla?? Why? I don't understand the scheme here. Was it part of the plan that all the yank soldiers were awful actors and that one of them was a fat fucking pig?

Please explain.
>>
>>224152438
Zero sexual chemistry between the two
>>
>>224152153
ESL? Your post makes no sense
>>
>>224154909
I dont think the FAB was purposefully a dud. If they killed Ghidorah there it wouldn't matter one way or the other. Plus at that point nobody knew Godzilla was even alive.
>>
>>224155124
Then the inclusion of that suspicious scene between the two US officers right after giving the Japanese the planes and the bomb really added to the confusion.
>>
>>224155159
I think the ships and tanks were genuinely there under orders to kill whoever's still standing on the off chance it was Ghidorah. But when the yanks realize its godzilla they give the cease fire order and let him leave hoping to nab the machine and noriko. There should have been a little scene from the bridge of that battleship where a sleazy suit guy tells the captain to cease fire and he does the obligatory "what are you? Nuts!!?" bit.
>>
>>224154909
I thought the plan was to give him a shit bomb so they could supercharge godzilla with the 3rd nuke then....use him or something. Idk i dont think this film was well thought out

That kind of plot worked in the older movies because they fully embraced the campiness.
It doesn't work when they want everything to be overly serious and dramatic. But then throw in a saturday morning cartoon villain scheme.

Why else would Godzilla and Ghidorah show up in the same location and then fight?

>>
>>224160257
In Minus One Noda surmised Godzilla considers Japan it's territory and that's why he was sticking around. So if Ghidorah in Minus Zero is suddenly running amok in his territory... No need for all the contrived nonsense.
It also seems that's what they originally intended it to be. With Godzilla's first appearance in Minus Zero being specifically noted as "at the exact same time" as King Ghidora's rebirth. But then at some point they changed things to the Noriko plan and left that in. So Godzilla reappearing at the same time as KG actually meant nothing and was apparently just a coincidence.

Some of the stuff was just brutal, like that one pilot talking about his kid learning to walk just to him getting killed like 20 minutes after. And the people in the flying houses holding their children and getting slammed into the ground.

Move over Mothra, Godzilla has a new crush.
>>
>>224160657

>>
The only thing that was spoiled for me about this film was the Ghidorah was in it and that wasn't a huge spoiler considering the film starts with him. Kinda weird how the film was called Godzilla, despite Godzilla being barely in it.
>>
>>224152153
Hi /tv/ I'm relatively new to Godzilla. I thought the whole G-cell thing was cheesy and made the movie seem more over the top compared to Minus One which seemed pretty grounded. Is cheesy stuff like G-cells common to Godzilla movies? I assume the older Godzilla movies can tend to be campy based on it being a series about a giant monster with atomic breath.
>>
>>224161071
If you want cheesy, watch the originals from the 60s-70s. They make Cheddar blush. That’s kind of the point. I’m surprised it was CheezWhizLite.
>>
Japanese theater is traditionally over the top and super emotive. Westerners get all salty about it but don't really understand it.

>>224159631
Nope.
>>
>>224155124
I remember the American guy implied that they had a backup plan if the bomb didn't work. I assumed the backup plan had to do with Godzilla which would mean that the USA was aware of Godzilla still being alive. But from what I recall they never really talk about their backup plan outside of that one scene so it's just a theory on my part I guess.

>>224160030
He is a professor in biology, not geography.
>>
>>224161229
why would anyone care about understanding it
>>
>>224154909
The yanks plan at the end was to steal the old guy's research and the girl to control Godzilla as a weapon of war (perhaps against the soviets). How they got to that point is a bit unclear since they never really get into much detail with what the Americans are plotting and when. I think they're deliberately set up as a mysterious figure.

What I wanted to know is how the old guy was planning on luring Godzilla from Japan to New York which is by the Atlantic Ocean and not the Pacific. Was he going to bring Godzilla through the Artic Ocean or something? The Panama Canal? I think maybe sicking Godzilla on California and show the golden gate bridge would have made more sense but the statue of liberty is more iconic to America as a whole.
>>
>>224161071
>I thought the whole G-cell thing was cheesy and made the movie seem more over the top compared to Minus One which seemed pretty grounded.
It's kinda the opposite for me. It recontextualise how Noriko actually managed to survive and change her almost-dath in minus one from a "we'll make you believe she died for some knee-jerk tears, but don't worry, she is alive anyway" to a development of the story that now feels organic.
>>
>>224155646
>>224155714
The neet one gets murdered by a crazy man in a tone-deaf reference to the Kyoto Animation burning. There, saved you $15 and 90min of your time.
>>
>>224159820
The fact that the end of the film is Akiko crying for five minutes straight in fucking IMAX audio drags this film down far below the quality of its predecessor.
>>
>>224160030
Same way I planned to fuck Noriko while sucking on the Godzilla scales on her shoulder: it's a daydream. It doesn't need logic. Plus the professor is insane.
>>
>>224161824
When I was watching the movie and she was crying at the end I was like can we wrap this up already do I really need to watch a girl cry for 5 minutes straight.
>>
>>224161763
>How they got to that point is a bit unclear
I mean, once they got the info the Japanese were going to make Godzilla and Ghidorah fight (seeing they asked their help to finish whoever would survive), they must have figured that the Japanese had found a way to lure Godzilla in.

>>224154909
>But then at the end they actually opened fire on Godzilla?? Why? I don't understand the scheme here.
For me, they were just in the middle of trying to figure how the Japanese were able to lure Godzilla where they wanted him to be and once they got the information, they took the decision to cease the fire and gave that order to the soldiers handling the guns.
>>
Why do asians love the patched up eye trope?
>>
>>224160843
Weird that you mention those PG-13 things and not the professor seeing his burned up relatives, or all the deteriorating people around the remains of Hiroshima or in the war hospital, or the boiling Americans in the daydream.
>>
>>224154166
>>224154287
But the meteorologist chick is the one who calls off the attack. I'm watching it again tomorrow, so maybe it'll make more sense the second go-round.
>>
>>224161861
Yeah, same, plus I spent the entire time thinking there's no way the cheesy-ass writing of the first film was going to lead into Koichi and Noriko just abandoning Akiko, especially when there's allegedly no plans for a sequel, so it was a game of tanking earsplitting bugperson cicada screeches while waiting for the inevitable resolution.
Seeing the movie in IMAX was a great cinematic experience, but in hindsight this was definitely a few notches worse than Minus One.
Another complaint, while I'm still in the text box: Ghidorah evolves, Godzilla regenerates and awakens, and they both allegedly destroy a bunch of shit off-screen for like half an hour while we just trust radio reports because obviously the director saved all the SFX budget for the core setpieces.

>>
>>224160216
They literally use this same trick in '84 to get him to fall into an active volcano. That's one of the "serious" ones.
>>
>>224161956
He basically died for no reason other than because the director needed a death. Surprised he didn't come back at the end with Ghidorah cells or something.
>>
>>224160627
There was a literal autistic guy in the seats in front of me who was tweaking the fuck out during that scene. It was funny, because he was trying to be polite and quiet, but could not physically stop himself from silently shouting and throwing his arms around.
>>
>>224160672
Once this hits 4K, I have every intention of cutting the "Itterasshai!" scene from the end, and pasting it to the point where they drop her off before the mission, and just cutting to them riding off together at the end. The fact that they essentially did the same scene twice is my only real complaint about the movie, especially when they stretch it on so long at the end when everybody's ready for it to be done.
>>
I just saw the movie and loved it alot HOWEVER there is 1 thing about the movie I hate and have no idea why they did this.

Editted out Ghidorah's "death". Did he die? Why not show it? Does that mean he will come back? WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU EDIT OUT A DEATH
>>
>>224160843
As soon as he said that, I was like "This poor bastard is a dead man walking". That's right up there with a cop being a week from retirement.
>>
>>224161956
I get they had to kill him but holy shit he is far and away the best actor in both movies. That actor is soooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking good. When he did I went sad because I was like..."there goes the best character".
>>
>>224161956
Even if they do a third, it's just not going to be the same without him. Maybe they'll give Captain and Kid a more prominent role again to make up for it. Those three were my favorite part of Minus One.
>>
at first I kept wondering why they had to keep borrowing American equipment and doing wacky looney tunes tier jerry rigged setups with lightning rods and weather balloons to try to take out Ghidorah but then I remembered that Japan at this point was still fully disarmed and the JSDF wouldn't be created until the 1950s.
>>
>>224162124
Yeah, it was weird as fuck. Ghidorah transforms into a three-headed Godzilla, charges up three heat rays, and... just fires them in the air while Godzilla blasts him? And that's it? That's good? Is Godzilla so weak that absorbing him made Ghidorah weaker? Was Godzilla's ray supposed to be stronger than the one he did earlier despite the SFX not showing it look bigger?

There was a part towards the end when an idea hit me and I'm glad it didn't happen. When Akiko is left at the "aunt's" house the wind blows her hair and she prays her parents come back.
