I feel so sorry for Karin. Even ignoring everything bar the anime she was always just an extremely sensitive girl with good morals who couldn't stand to see other people suffer from the very first episode she was in. Turning her into a Gestapo leader who laughs at her rich friend crushing civilian opposition for her-which is blatantly what they intended even if they're rolling it back now-was just about one of the most OOC and insulting things they could have done to her, but her supposed fans, or at least the ones who actually stayed around after S3, lapped it up because she grew up hot/they're terminal franchise fanboys.
