You are trying to get a mature romance from a children's cartoon and it just struggles the moment you don't have them 'alone together' anymore.I enjoyed the beginning of And You and I and it goes right off a cliff the moment the two of them stop interacting as much 3 chapters in and the other characters force their way in. I'm here to watch two girls flirt, seduce, fight, and fuck each other. Sometimes all the same time.I think this is why I never got into the Supercorp ship - Lena can't go hand to hand with Supergirl ever. Where as if Kim ever gets even a mild powerup Shego just gets even hornier since now she can go all out but otherwise can still get off to just how competent Kim is in a fight.

That said, I don't think I've ever encountered a Bellamione fic which suddenly had het in the middle, the het is basically always that Hermione was comphet'ing or otherwise confusing platonic attachment in the heat of the moment, as a starting circumstance for her finding something real with Bellatrix.
