I decided to look into the name Samaya.Investigating names online is kind of a pain because of all the baby name slop sites, and I'd imagine data sets used by Western genealogical researchers are less than great for Asian countries. Nonetheless, a website called Forebears gives ~6000 hits for Samaya as a forename (mostly in India and Azerbaijan) and ~1000 as a last name, mostly in Iran and India. There are no English Wikipedia articles about people whose last name is Samaya, but there are a few hits for the forename. I assume it's a real last name, but a fairly rare one.As for what it means, it's Sanskrit and means time or oath (and lots of concepts related to those). I think what they were going for is the way it's used in Vajrayana Buddhism, in which it means specifically the oaths given by the disciple to the guru. Sonzen, which is part of Vajrayana, is the third largest Buddhist sect in Japan, so I don't think this is too far-fetched.If this is what they were going for, Samaya tells us less about Nadim than Elnora. Dr. Nabo was her teacher and clearly she once believed in her noble goal, so her becoming Prospera Mercury suggests her breaking her commitment. There is of course a certain amount of irony here, as the Vanadis Institute had already broken those ideals by working on weapons instead of cybernetics, even if they didn't want to.
