So yeah, I am trying to get into the mod. It's a bit tough, because I'm not used to the clunky ancient game from the early 90s, but I'll manage somehow.

What I did not expect was for X-Piratez to be a X-com-Fate/Stay Night-Madoka Magica crossover fanfic. Like so many of the romancable girls are ust F/SN related. Illya and Rin? At least Illya's counterpart just looks like her, but I am made to understand Rin is just ACTUALLY Rin traveling universes. And I don't even have to guess who the "purple goddess" will be. The Arch-Witches are just the Madoka cast... very funny.

The guide was not lying about the autistic levels of research. I really can't imagine going in blind for this. Guess I will go for Dumbass Captain + Catgirl Empire route. We'll see which main love interest's story I will go down when I got a better handle on the game.

Hold on a second, what's with that installation guide? It's either very outdated or just very wrong.
Each version of X-Piratez is only really meant to work with one specific version of OXCE (the one it ships with). That's the whole reason why they ship everything in one (almost) ready to use package (the only thing NOT included is one folder containing copyrighted assets from the 1994 game - they can't do that for legal reasons). You're not supposed to mess with any of this manually unless you have a very specific reason and know exactly what you're doing.
The actual installation guide is basically
>download Piratez
>download original 1994 X-Com ("modern" GOG version probably works too, original Windows version from 2000 ("X-com Gold") probably doesn't)
>copy asset folders (GEODATA, GEOGRAPH, MAPS, ROUTES, SOUND, TERRAIN, UFOGRAPH, UFOINTRO, and UNITS) from 1994 to Xpiratez/UFO (if in doubt just copy everything but only the listed folders are required)
>that's it (just launch and switch "game" to "piratez" in the options now)
I've taken the liberty to replace your guide with the one from the official readme.
Also I'm not a fan of recommending the gameplay guide to new players because the only wrong choice is clearly labeled as such in the game ("We Need Male Touch" research) and everything else is best experienced going in blind (including some "wrong" choices like accidentally ending up on the Chaos Saint path) but that's just my opinion so I'm not changing anything except installation guide.

Open Xcom Extended literally links itself to any installed version of the game when you install it, including the Steam version. They even recommend GOG/Steam in the guide for OXCE. So you don't actually need to copy anything from the original game yourself, OXCE does this on its own now.

The main reason why your version sucks is exactly that... you need to transfer everything into the Xpiratez folder, instead of just using your existing OXCE launcher. If you use more than one mod, this is just annoying. Putting mods into the mods folder is literally how all modern modding handles it and that is why OXCE streamlined itself like that. You probably didn't understand this, but that is exactly what the X-piratez download does itself. It just creates a OXCE version with the X-Piratez mod already included. But without the original UFO assets, which is why it asks you to copy-paste them.

Tough luck, this isnt the kind of game you should throw people into blind unless they specifically ask for it. Not everyone is willing to lose 30 hours of progress because they fucked themselves with a bad situation. The beginner guide is more than necessary for players who never even played the original game imo.

That's exactly what I said in my post. The problem is that Piratez is famous for breaking in weird ways with "wrong" OXCE versions so it's better to keep it standalone. Especially now that Piratez hasn't been updated for half a year. The most recent version is designed to work with OXCE 8.3, with OXCE 8.4+ who the fuck knows what's going to happen. Maybe it'll work fine, maybe it'll appear fine at first and then shit itself later on.

This is just more trivia than anything, but Marvel Rivals added a Lady Loki skin that can completely replace origianl Loki. Basically all voicelines and animations redone with the female version. This is just worth mentioning, because Lady Loki did date women in the comics at some point. And no, this isn't just an illusion spell, it's a whole alternate continuity where Loki was always a woman.
Despite it being a chink made game, they are actually adding some LGBT characters after all. Angela was the real surprise pick of course (she actually has a voiceline about her wife). There is also Deadpool now who is pansexual, but... well he is dude obviously. But he already has voicelines about how he hopes they will give him a Ladypool skin in the same vein as Lady Loki.

As announced in advance,
I got through the mess that is Brokenlore - Unfollow. It released on the 16th Jan.
Duration: 3-4h with a bit of sidetracking caused by design appreciation and overly excessive cat petting. There is an achievement for finishing the game in under 3h.
That's for one path. There are two achievements for respectively a good or a bad ending. Counting the two good and bad options which makes it 4 choices in total we'd be missing two more endings. But I don't think I have the nerves the size of undersea cables to go through this again.
Short story: FemMC with Bulemia Nervosa has an overbearing (disfigured?) mother and discovers the internet. Now she deals with a mental breakdown.

How Yuri is it?
Not worth it. At the end she is kissing the female monster which could be either a stand-in symbol for her mother or herself. I'd like to believe its the former. However they went too hard on the boyfriend and even the good ending is tainted with a short video of him. Definitely not worth it to go through this again. However if a certain combination of the previous options would make him vanish I'd give it a small recommendation with a bi-slut warning on an abysmally cheap discount.
Although, if you really, really squint hard enough and set your Goggles to ultra high you could theoretically some weird mommy issues like a deer in headlights.

There is also the whole streaming aspect but nothing about this game is worth discussing and bringing up ever again but I remember >4412665 (You).

Years ago I'd do silly stuff in games that weren't even necessarily yuri, like only use the female companions in Mass Effect and ignore or if possible kill off as many male characters as I could. In Mount and Blade I made a female character and raided villages to get the one female unit in that game, and then kinda just be a bandit and fight everyone with my army of warrior women.
